:) Hi Guys,

We are hosting our Greenwing day soon, this is a youth program we do through DU for kids 12 and under.

I do the hunting portion of the day.Last year we did layout blinds, calls, and decoys. Does anyone have any suggestions of what we could add to the program this year ?

Maybe discuss when it is appropriate to call the shot, It seems when hunting public areas you see a lot of sky busting or people not letting the birds work, when the birds are feet down and committed, why shoot at them when they are 35 yards when they are going to come into 15 yards?

Thanks for taking the time to work with the kids, I know I allways enjoy working with them, and having them in the blind with us.

Good point Gooser. Maybe also bird identification. 12 and under, it's all pretty basic stuff, for some of the older guys, you could work on reading the birds, and when to call and when not to! Anybody know anyone like that? Good luck to you! Great thing to do!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the great feed back !!! The kids are in for a blast again this year.

After this event, I offer them a free ticket to our Waterfowlers dinner, which we have guests from Foiles Migrators that ties everything together.

We had one youngster have tears drip down his face last year at the dinner after Jeff did his duck and goose routine, when asked what was wrong, he simply repied " That was best thing I ever heard !!!"

We do make impressions on the lttle ones, keep up the good work guys !!

Sounds like a great time, I would love to help with something like that. Let us all know how it goes this year.
