Anyone think the difference in the qaulity of Winchester Supreme and Kentfast Steel is worth the extra money? The price difference is about 60 bucks per/case but my biggest confusion was on the fps. The kent 3 1/2 number 2s is 1625 and the winchester is 1475. I've heard a lot of good things about both shot types. I was just looking for some input on whether anyone thought it would be worth the money to get the winchester or if the extra 150 fps is really a big factor?

When the birds are at 20 yards over the decoys it really dont much matter.
I have had great results from Kents 3" #2's, Kents for the price are hard to beat.
i have never used the kents but i have some older win's that i used to get 2boxes of shells and a duck call for around 20bucks. i have never had any problam killing birds with them. i shoot federals now and like them alot. if there's a dicks sporting goods by u they have some good prices on shells and even discount if u buy by the case. i don't shoot enough to buy by the case but if i was u i would buy a box of each and pattern ans see what ones shoots the best then decide on the case. there's no sense in buying a case if they don't produce and work for u.

I would have to cast my vote for Kent. I find they are a quality shell and hard to beat for the price.

I shoot winchester supremes and love them. I've shot both kents and winchesters and to me the Supremes are worth the extra money.

Kent uses a cheap wad, I would go with the Supremes.
But pattern them both and see what works.

I shoot Kent 3.5" #2 at 1625fps out of a Browning Gold Hunter with an ext. Patternmaster. Not sure on the restriction of the choke. You can basically aim right at geese and only a minute lead on ducks. They are FAST! Sometimes too fast.
I haven't shot the Supremes. I also don't plan on it.
The money I save, goes in the tank to get me there!
If you can find someone that has both brands. Cut them both open and look at the pellets in them. The Kent's I know have bearings for shot. They are perfectly round and clean. I haven't seen the pellets in the Supremes. BUT, every other Winchester shell that I've cut open has had saucers for pellets. Not saying the Supremes look like that though.
But, just like shotguns and trucks and everything else that has arguments. Shoot what you want. These are simply everyones experiences and opinions.

I shoot kents mainly because there a little cheaper than the others. I have had very good experience with kents so far. Especially there 3 1/2 #3

I shoot supremes. I was picking them up last year at a local store up at school for 13.99 a box for 3" BB's, 2's, and 4's. I've shot both, but the only faststeel that I will use is the 1 1/4 oz load. They have a better (thicker) wad in them for the patternmaster....the 1 1/8 oz loads patterned like crap, but that 1 1/4 was a completely different story.

both are great but with the rise in prices Ive been shootin kent faststeel and all purpose steel. All purpose was all bass pro had left last year and they were only 8.99 a box. but the faststeel #3 for geese and #6 for ducks is the way I go. browning gold with a kicks full choke

I shoot Kent 3'' #3's at ducks and 3 1/2'' BB and BBB with an Extended Patternmaster with no troubles. Never had a shell jam up in my 870 or 11-87. Except one time I found two shells in a box with the upper lip that the extractor clip grabs onto was cracked half way around. Returned them to Kent and the replaced the box.
Best shell out there for the cost. Just like the fella said before the savings goes into the fuel in your truck or in my case, beer for my buddies and I after the hunt.

If you take the time to pattern your shotgun to find out what brand and load, choke constriction works with your your shooting abilities then you shouldnt be having gliders or sailers.

It's not me fellas. Its my buddies that shoot CRAPSTEEL. Like I already told ya. I KILL birds with Black Cloud. Of course I pattern my gun as do my buddies. It's kinda like their using ping pong balls while I'm using golf balls if that is a better way to put it.

Maybe they can't shoot.
I have no issues effectively KILLING birds with Fasteel. Black Cloud, I'm sorry, isn't the answer to "killing" birds.
Birds can be effectively killed with any shell. If the person can't shoot for $hit, the birds won't be killed efficiently.

The speed is what will kill for you. I shoot about 4 cases of Kents a year and it works fine. no need to piss away 60-70 bucks a box on shells that are not better. Find the right load for the gun and if you hold it on, it will kill them.
Black Cloud is a scam ! imo.

If you get the birds in close like you're supposed to and you know how to shoot at all, there is no need to buy the super expensive shells. But if you think it helps, have at it.

if your shooting in water i say winchester dry-loks are awesome. never found any other shell you can dunk and drop in the water, pick it up, put it in the gun, and kill birds.
