well everyone who is on the Foiles Migrators Staff pretty much makes all the effort they can to support, help, and spread information about Foiles Migraotrs in all different ways. not to mention to help increase the number of calling contest wins. we also have some of the best duck and goose callers around. during the off season we help out at shows, the foiles migrators shop, and also introducing the Foiles name to new people. it may not sound like alot to do but in all reality its alot of dedication.

We (my brother and I) met the Grinder at our State Contest at Swan Lake, talked to him, my brother was blowin at SMH, the Grinder talked with us offered some advice, and I think he mentioned him(my brother) to Foiles and he got a contract. I began contest duck calling, after a conversation with Jeff in St. Cloud, blew in a few, won one, and notified Jeff and was given a contract.
Since, I am active in calling contests when schedules permit and shows when they are assigned, and support the team and FMI 100%. It is a great group of guys and a great organization to be involved with. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to post up!!

I organized a waterfowl event at our local Gander Mountain and had a Foiles Pro-Staff member come up and give a seminar. While he was here, we spent a lot of time talking about hunting and calling and FMI, as I have been a long time stauch supported of FMI. We became friends and kept in touch. I sent in pics of some of our hunts and he and I emailed back and forth about bird numbers and Foiles coming out to film , etc. Well, after about 6 months of this, my dedication to Foiles, my hunting and calling ability, and my determination and desire to get into this industry was very evident to him and we spoke about a contract....about a week later, with a little push from Kelly Rees, the contract arrived. After long talks with Kelly I took the plunge!!!! And I have not looked back! I chose to be a part of team of guys, much like a family, and it was a great decision!!!
So, I guess it comes down to my personality, my desire and commitment, my hunting and calling abilities, and dedication to FMI. I am not a contest caller....yet. But I can hold my own in a goose field and I can bang some puddlers with the best of them!!!

Our Contracts are confidential, so no one can really truely answer that one for you.
Sorry

ok.. but just give me an example of what a contract MIGHT consist of. Doesn't have to be your contract. Like.. free calls.. gear.. etc.. as long as you work shows..
I just never knew there was such a thing... just curious as to what a contract may consist of in general. Do other call company's have them?

Pretty much a sponsorship type of deal in any business requires a contract. I cant really say whats in ours because they are confidential. Basicly just lays out what you do for the company, what they do for you, how long it lasts and what happens if you dont perform.
I have several contracts in waterfowl and a few in other sports that we work with. it's really a good deal because nobody has to wonder what is expected of them, it's all up front and if you dont like it you dont sign it.

DOKKEN:
This post is just to kill the misconception that Pro-Staff guys get free gear......nothing is free brother!!!
You work for it...you do shows, seminars, travel, call in contests, pay entry fees, etc. Yeah..we may get things at a bit of a discount, but trust me, we still pay for our gear. It would be nice to get all of my gear from all of the companies I represent for free...but in reality - there is no chance of that. But, we do get a lot of benefits...chances to field test gear befroe it hits the market, see behind the scenes in the industry, travel here and there and maybe get the chance to guide some hunters here or there for fun....
But, for those of you who think that belonging to a pro-staff is all fun and games and free gear.....well, sorry to burst your bubbles boyz....but it is not. It is fun and games at times, but it is a lot of work and dedication as well!!!

Hey John Vaca, I keep meaning to tell you that your Foiles Migrators Pro Staff in your signature is misspelled! One of those obsessive compulsive things I guess. Although Migtators sounds awesome! 8)

I'm scheduled for several of the Falling Skys hunts, some of the F/A stuff, and have several writer hunts on the burner. Looks like it is going to be another busy season! But I'm not complaining.
You working on anything?

Depending on how this season goes, and the footage we get. There may be the first installment of MN Migrators videos!!
We'll see what happens. Good chance that I'll be the camera man for most of the season. :x stupid knee :x

Hopefully we'll get some really good footage this season. We've been planning to try and put something together about hunting around Indiana, deer, turkety, water fowl, etc. Still all preliminary right now. We're also working on a great piece of ground to lease, If we get it hoping to invite Jeff Foiles to come over and hunt it with us for video hunt. But whatever we do, I'm sure we'll have fun! 8) Good luck with your projects, look forward to seeing them.
