I have never called with the one you have in question. However, I was a very loyal customer to ECHO and Buck Gardner acrylic calls before I called one of my buddies TR. Since then I have been sold on Jeff's calls! I have the TR in single and double reed and couldn't be more pleased with them. With some extra time put in practicing on the single reed it has become my favorite call.

Used the single reed and its nasty, I have used just about every make, and most models.

Foiles, Echo, RNT, Zink, Lynch Mobb, they all make a great call.

What call is set apart, if you ask me Zinks xr 2 has got to be the best sounding, if you can run it. A lot of people can't or don't want to take the time to learn it.

As far as raspy duck goes, great hunting calls, all the makes do their job.

Its really up to you to try them out, give them a thorough run in the store, work the feed chatter, quacks to soft greet, all the way up to louder hails.

Then decide which you like, what sounds best, and don't be afraid to ask the guy showing you the calls which sounds best.

The double reed Stranglehold is an awesome call, but the Strait Timber is pretty awesome too. They both hold their own. Try them both and then buy one.
