How many of you all have them mounted on the front of your duck boats? How often, if at all, do they get knocked off during the rigors of the season?
Are they worth it ...as opposed to, or in addition to, a hand-held spotlight?

I have a set of rectangle Hellas I installed last year I found them very useful. Not so much for getting from point A to point B but for seeing at dark when setting out decoys. I found I can put my decoy bags on the bow of my boat and pull the boat around while throwing them using it as a spot light. I like a hand held spot light better for navigation because I found it puts off better light and with always changing boat loads in regards to people and gear weight the head lights never seemed to be in the right alignment. I would recommend Hellas lights for durability. I am always hitting them on trees etc. and have not damaged them at all. If you can find a way to install them on the bow, set in a little bit will allow the boat to take hits and not your lights. I run them off my trolling motor battery so not to kill my starter battery and they work great! Hope this helped. http://www.quadratec.com/products/97012_02.htm here is what I am using they are very bright.

I'm running the Blazer lights that you can get from Northern for $20 each. I have the Trapezoid pattern lights.
I use them for navigation and sometimes seeing the decoys. I am thinking of putting a set of lights on the shooting side of my blind for setting decoys. Not sure yet.
I have mine set on the outside of my blind. They are in the open and haven't knocked them off yet......knock on wood....
Here's a pic on how I mounted mine....riveted to the upright...

Ditto as above I have the same lights mounted on my boat and just use them when setting up the dekes. I use a 2 million spotlight when boating out to the hole and to navigate through the stumps. I also made light covers to put over the lights when hunting and transporting.
