X Landr in Max 4. Lowest profile.

Cabelas for the money a great blind. Easy transport and assembly.

Since my son started hunting with me last year (when he was 6) He has claimed the Xlandr. :D

We hunt exclusively out of Avery blinds....PowerHunters or Finishers. We primarily use the Finishers but if we need a lower profile blind (short cut wheat, winter wheat, pastures, etc.) we use the Power Hunters. Both are great blinds and we have them in both MOSG and Field Khaki!!!

was goin to buy a final approach but after the last day of goose season i decided not to and am in the process of gettin a finisher. two of my friends have final approach and i noticed somethin about both of thier blinds. i dunno if anyone elses does this or not. next time your huntin have one of your friends stand at your feet while u close the blind and start callin. your call should ring off the pipes to the blind pretty bad. i dunno if it would hurt anything but i sure as heck didnt like that when i heard it. tried it with the finisher and it didnt do anythng.

Never noticed a ring on my final approach blind, nor any of the people that I have hunted with Final Approach blinds. Must be an isolated problem with that blind.

i dunno what was up with my buddies blinds then. Did they switch the types of poles that are in the frame cause maybe theres are older or somethin. Either way i felt more comfortable in the finisher. As jeff would say that thing is the deal.

I have both blinds and they both have their place in the field. If I can drive in I go with my Final Approach, easier to get into and out of. If I have to walk in or drive a long distance I go with my Finisher, no trailer and the biggest problem I have with my FA is it doesn't fit in a short box. I think they did change the FA structures.

I have an Avery Finisher which I love...but Avery is losin' their realtree deal and Jeff is headed to Final Approach! I'll be pickin' one up soon!

Why are the loosin Realtree. Max4 HD is the best lookin camo out there today.

iawaterfowler88
01-02-2006, 12:51 PM
wait wasnt Jeff with FA to start off with? then went to Avery....and now hes goin back to FA? what about all the full bodies and stuff GHG has given him and what not.....hes sponsered by Realtree so I guess if they pull their camo from Avery then I guess he must get pulled too or what? Sponsership is a confusing subject.....

hopefully he will stick wtih the avery decoys at least because honestly i havent seen better looking goose or duck decoys. has final approach fixed thier blinds so that they will fit in a short bed pickup yet? and how soon is he switchin over to final approach?

IowaMigr8tor

I hope they fix it because the box says fits in a short box. Mine is like mayb a 1/4 to 1/2 to long.

Final Approach S.U.B. for me. Lots of room and doesn't ring off the poles. Got a new one this year and I'm pretty sure it would fit in a shortbox.

Since Avery is loosing their realtree license..they will have to go to mossy joke! Jeff is in w/ realtree...hince Realtree productions produces Fallin Skies....He has to have nothing to do w/ anything except realtree products. He used to be Final Approach...AVERY...now Final Approach again. They make quality items..i'm here to tell ya! Their Eliminator FULL BODY GOOSE.. are just as good if not better looking then GHG's. Check em out..you'll see for yourselves!

My dad and I each own an older Finisher both in Shadow Grass. My uncle has a Final Approach Eliminator and its awesome. If I had a truck I would definately have an Eliminator Pro Guide. They're alot more roomy and comfortable than Finishers, but I dont mind my finisher.

IowaMigr8tor
01-02-2006, 08:20 PM
Yeah Miller havin one of each is good. If you had the protective cover I'm sure you could put it on your roof. I would rather hunt out of my Final Approach but somtimes it just can't happen.

I've got the cabela's interceptor blind in farmland camo. It's a great blind for the money and it's relitively low profile is pretty roomy for me. And the farmland camo is easy to blend in just about any terrain.

well boys we killed 7 more geese today. no leg iron though :( . the geese just kept putting the sneaks on us. the fog was really thick and we couldnt even see 100 yards at times. they didnt start flyin till around 10 so i got some sleepen done in the old finisher. but the browning BPS went to work again. hopfully we can wack em and stack em, kill em and grill em again tommorrow.

01-04-2006, 09:11 AM
Yeah...he's back at FA. I'm glad to see that to. And as far as mossy oak goes...i'm just a realtree guy...born and bread :). It's just somethin' my old man got me started sayin'. Their break-up isn't a bad camo...but I think their waterfowl camo blows. It's really not fair though when you're holdin' it next to MAX-4!!

Just an FYI - The rumor about Avery losing their RealTree License is just that, a rumor.

I'm a final approach guy anyway! Plus the things w/ shadowgrass is it's one dimensional...all you can do is lay in a cornfield... Max-4 gives you the ability to hunt from a treestand or blind for deer or turkeys...cattails,corn for ducks and geese. There's just not enough dark in shadowgrass in my opinion!

I use an Interceptor blind from cabelas it work ok great for the money , also have a powerhunter that I let other guys use that don't have a blind. They seem to like it ,I built a frame for it out of pvc pipe so that the material isn't laying on top of your legs . Seems to make it a little better. Its alot warmer not having that cold material on top of you all the time.

migrator00 u said that Max-4 gives you the ability to hunt from a treestand or blind for deer or turkeys...cattails,corn for ducks and geese. do u use the max 4 for deer and turkey to?

I've got Max-4 and Hardwoods for my deer hunting. It depends on what stand I am hunting on that certain day. I've got a couple ground spots in some grown up fescue fields that max-4 looks unreal in. I also use it from my treestand as well. It's a good deal durin' early turkey season as well before the green hits! If you're like me...you're generally on a field edge and i'm tellin' ya...it's awesome!

I have worn Max-4 in the tree stand, All of my Max-4 gear is Waterproof, and I didn't have an Moderate weather waterproof Hardwoods at the time so I wore my warm weather goose clothes (Max-4) in the bowstand durring a big rain and it blended in awsome.

I am still trying to decide on a new layout blind, probably will be an avery, and if they dont have Max-4, I will buy it in Field Khaki, and mud it well. I have allways primarily hunted water from a boat blind, but started hunting fields some this year and plan to more next year, so I need to get a nice layout.

THey had both a field khaki and a max4 in jeffs shop when i was in there a couple weeks ago if you were lookin for another reason to go over there.

I do like my Finisher a lot. It's a very comfortable blind and the fact that it folds up small is a huge plus. I've got a 4 door 2004 f1-50 4x4 short bed lariat and that's about the only blind that will fit in the back! I'm tellin' ya also....field kakhi is actually good stuff! Once you mud it and throw a little veg on it..they all look the same anyway...so you may as well save yourselves some cash. BUT...it does look like i'm gonna have to get a FA now that the leader of this band switched sides :)!

You could always make a frame out of pvc pipe to make it a lil easier. i read somewhere on here about someone doin that.

I have a S.U.B., and my buddy has a finisher, so I don't collapse my blind, and the finisher fits down inside it, and if we can drive into the field it works great, I can thrown the S.U.B. over my head w/the finisher and carry it to where we are setting up, it helps save time if we camo my blind at the house. We still fit 16 fullbodys and about 4 dz shells in the back of his Ram pickup.
