I havent had a dislike about it at all. You can tune it to be a mid to high goose and it is just plain goosey

think of a factory tune as the middle point on a grid. It is going to give you the middle of the calls expected call range at that tune. The cackler is a crazy fun call to run. It will give a low end that will most times sound more like a buzz from a snow goose. As you develope as a caller you will find that this call will give you two different low end growls. I think this low end response is very cool for a higher pitched call. If you study the cackler you will find that the show time mouthpiece is based on its design, very short very quick and very quick to load. The smaller insert and slightly larger more open bore allow it to clear air very fast and this gives you a very responsive call. The fun thing about the call is that most of your smaller geese fly in huge groups, this means a lot of noise and short sounds piled together. To me the benefit of the short call is the ability to use a short very quick reed set up. I can produce many more notes and strings of notes on my cackler than i can my other calls because of this. Its alot of fun and is a great addition to any caller's bag.

Well put Eric. I just got a crackler myself and it is a very responsive call and I like the higher pitch. I can't wait to try it out in the early season.
