I have owned a couple, they are a good call. It can be tuned to an all around the board sound, meaning it can get low and high. You can tune it higher pitched and it will scream cackler all day long.

You can tune it lower pitched, and it will bark big goose at you, it will run trains, and do all the fantastic trick notes we have come to love.

Good call, heres a video I did when I was selling one.

Why I don't have one: I don't like how it sits in my hand, it slips to easy.

You just got it, and your getting rid of it. I dont blame you, its too short.

The real thang is hands down a hell of a goosey quick call.

just got a real thang a couple weeks ago , man that call is goosey and awesome. i tunned mine low but it still has a good high. i also have the ss-1& ss-2 , they are alot better call if u put some saunders broken in guts in them. i have 3 of them and each one is tunned alittle different but all sound good. back to the real thang , if u can trade the ss for one i'd do it . it is quickly becomeing one of my favorite calls , next to the wood HPH

The SS-1 and the Real-Thang are dang near the same size.

I've heard nothing but great things about the SS calls. I have one of each and will be getting a second SS-1 here in the near future. Right now is the time to get one....

i just felt that the ss1 had too small of a barrel.. more like a duck call then a goose.. the real thang is bigger barrel with short insert.. so it fits my style mroe

technically, the shorter brrl should make for a faster call. Guts in the ss1 are recessed too..

I dont know, but that ss-1 is on its way to my house. Slap some foiles guts in it and blow away, should be interesting.

Be careful with the green guts in those.......they may not fit. The guts sizes may be different.....smaller or bigger, one way or another.

I would suggest the Saunders Red Guts or the Game Used Guts in there. Either way, I think you'll like the call :D
