Well it was a fun day! I wish I would have blown a little better, but they're always be next time! :? SDMF (Jason Mentink) got 2nd, CONGRATS! I had a great time blowing in the 2 man meat with Jason, those things are an absolute ball! We have the pleasure in knowing that the 2nd round we had the highest score, the 1st round kept us from winning, we had just met and neither one of us had ever blown in one so it was a learning curve on the 1st round, but we bounced back with a respectable 2nd round! 8) Looking forward to next year, we'll have to practice alittle before next time Jason! It was great meeting all the guys. It's amazing you're all in competition with each other, yet there is such a comraderie because when it comes down to it you can appreciate when someone blows a great routine! Or you feel for them when they squak! Thanks again guys! We'll definitely have to hook up and swap some hunts!

Hey it was a pleasure meeting ya'll as well.We will have to work a little harder at it next time.Your Ded Meat call sounded great.Getting second place at the state is a bitter pill for me but it showed me that I need to get back to practicing a lot . I might drive up to the Pte. Moulliee fest in Mi. come Sep.I would say that FMI put a good showing on this weekend. I got 2nd at the In. state with a SS.Double H and I got third in the 2 man meat with a TR(me) and the new DM(HH) and I watched Cody Hoppes win the Open Goose Today. Didn't watch the 2 man,but Maybe Cody or somebody else That was there can post up more details.

Hey Hoosier Hunter, In my opinion he should of won. I watched the whole contest and after the first round I had him winning. I am not taking anything away from the winner he sounded awesome but I thought Jason sounded really good. Congrats on second though.

Hey Goosed, I should have said Hi, I saw you sitting there with your FMI hat on. So what happened with the goose contest? I wasn't able to be there that day also. I had a great day, really looking forward to next year, I hope we have an even better turnout, it definitely was kind of a rebuilding year I think. I was looking forward to shooting some also, but I discovered about half way there that I had forgotten to grab my choke tubes for my gun! :x Oh well. Actually I wish I had stopped you, I need to get some extra reeds for my goose call, and I need to get some reeds for duck call, I just hate to pay the shipping to order it from the shop.

Thanks Goosed, but I definately stumbled in the last round. The one judge told me I messed up a little bit on a transition and was "too choppy" on my low end calls.

I have a request from the Indiana boys. I am from the South Bend area up north and I never knew about the contest this past weekend . I'm not a good enough caller to enter but I would have enjoyed going. I never heard about this until reading these posts after it was over. I would have taken a day off work to go. Where do they advertise for this or could you guys post up next year so I don't miss out again. This is the only show with in an hour drive for me . Thanks. Tim W.

Look at www.callingducks.com they have almost every contest in the country listed, with results, standings and rankings of callers also.

TWaton, I first heard about it on Callingducks.com, it was posted on the forum, and then they put it on the calender. As soon as I hear for next year, I will make sure and post it on here also.

Hey hoosier, so did you and Jason place in the contest? And how many teams were in the contest? I am definately going to call at the Iowa contest next year, probably in the open goose and maybe a team goose or duck, even though I will get my a$$ handed to me.

There's a contest in bettendorf, Ia on Aug 26th that a few of us will be at for duck. (If we don't go to the k.c. regionals and masters of the marsh 2-man) It will be a last minute call.
