Does anyone know how to find out about bird banding info in certain areas or counties? I am getting ready for early season and have four nice size flocks of roughly 150 geese in different areas and counties. I would like to know or find out about bird banding info in these areas and when theywere last banded. Is there a website or someone that a person can contact to find out about bird banding info? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Not too many agencies will willingly give out that information. I know if we want to be a part of banding here in PA, we have to call the Game Comission and they will have everyone meet at a meeting point and break up from there so not everyone knows where every banded bird is. And they only take so many volunteers!

You can try...I would start with you local Game Warden, CO, etc. and work up from there! Good luck!

I would say the same thing, GOOD LUCK! They won't tell you. You can get your information for your bird after you kill it and call it in, and they send you a certificate of appreciation. It's always a nice little surprise to recieve it and get the scoop on your bird. Just adds to the anticipation.
