I have a new hunting spot by the city and 200 yards from a elementary school so they have this rule that you can not use larger shot then 4 shot.
I was reviewing the heavy shot website and it seems wrong.
#2 heavy shot good to 47 yards
#4 heavy shot good to 57 yards

It just seems odd but I can not see using steel #4 for geese.
What do you think?
Thanks

personally i use heavy shot #2 3" for geese with a light mod choke with no problems. #4? maybe a imp mod choke and depending on range, i could see maybe 30yds, never heard of heavy shot goose loads must be new, if you do try it pattern it at 30yds with a mod choke, also look for the regular boxes of heavy shot not the goose loads, p.s. i use heavy shot dead coyote (t) shot for deer with a full choke (bang dead right there 85yds) just my .02 cents worth

I use mainly 2 but i have killed geese with 4 with no problem , It wouldn't bother me to use them if that was what i was restricted to in heavy shot,, A 670 rhino tube in a x2 is the dealiest combo i ever shot on geese, but with a tube that tight it is just like a turkey load with a turkey load pattern extremely tight ...to tight for most people, I would actually recommend a more open choke but if you choose to use it , you either miss them. or kill them dead.

I would go with 2 shot 3 1/2 inch with an improved cylinder choke. But this is what I would try but you should do some different things and experiment with it.
