I'm going to buy some floaters for this season. Narrowed down to FA & GHG. Have Dakota F.B but can't afford their floaters. I can't find many pictures on the FA Last pass HDs, but found a good price on them. So I was wondering what you guys thought of their paint and body detail. I like the interlocking heads more than the GHGs. Im buying this week so any help soon would be great
Thanks
Shawn

Enough said, I heard they'd be closer to 300. Personaly I think the Dakota FB beat out all else. Just wish I could get them closer. Im near Kearney's Cabelas (1.5 hrs) but they don't carry crap on stock. Any of you dealers, if so think theres need for one In Central Nebraska. Might carry some myself, if it wasn't to much hassle.
Thanks for the heads up, Ill wait. Should I just contact the shop you think in a couple of weeks?

The Cabelas should have them by your house. I was under the understanding that all Cabelas would have them. Get ahold of bck1006 he will help you with all your Dakota Decoys needs. I would once again go with the Dakota Decoys for sure!!!!

I looked at the new FA floater at game fair, and I really didn't like it.

It was way to light, it almost looked like they painted it, then took a can of white spray paint and dusted it. Same thing with the fullbody blue, they should be darker.

I have bought 8 boxes of GHG lifesize floaters in the past month or so, extremely realistic, the right colors, they aren't to light, they aren't to dark, they hit the nail on the head.

Dakota didn't have a floater when I stopped by, so who knows, the carving looks great, but that isn't a floater decoy, thats a custom painted carving. The floater should be similar, but until the product comes out we can't be for sure.

If everything goes to plan they should be great looking and very durable.

The GHG are very nice decoys but wait until all the paint falls off of them. I wish you luck with them but all the averys I have had and I have had a lot of them turn out to have all the paint fall off of them!

Just my 2 cents

I have used the Cabelas in store pick up program. Real easy to use and its really nice knowing you aint got to pay big shipping fees to get it home delivered!

Once again guys the Dakota Floaters are hands down the best floaters on the market today. The geese aint going t know wat hitem this season!

Are they really that much better than the BF's that they are almost double the price for only 2 more decoys? ($90 for 4 BF's VS $160 for 6 Dakotas) :?

When you do the math on a half dozen its only a little over $4 a deke more not double the price.
4 BF @ $90 = 22.50 each
6 Dakotas @ $160 = 26.66 each

Just some food for thought....in no way am I busting your chops

No worries.

The only thing i wish the BF's had were sleeper heads for the floaters. I've been thinking about getting some GHG's just for that reason.

i just bought a box of ghg floaters at game fair and i cant wait to use em. they look awsome. ive heard tht paint has chipped off of some ghg decoys from other people, yet i havent seen any paint chipping on any of my decoys and there all ghg. i guess tht some people just got a bad batch or something.

It's possible. I used nothing but GHG duck decoys and i dont baby them that much & hunted 20+ days with them and they only need some touch up here and there and they'll be good to go for this season.

I just ordered another dozen GhG Life Size floaters and I cannot wait to get them. So I recommend GHGs

I got a dozen of the oversized floaters when they first came out. Paint was horrible on them...chipped badly. Head system was even worse...I've had to buy new heads for them every year. Overall though the paint chips aren't to noticeable until the geese are dead. :D I did get some and my buddies got some of the lifesize floaters last year and ghg seemed to get the heads fixed to a different style and the paint seemed to be a tad better. I think they are great looking dekes but haven't had a chance to hunt over the fa floaters yet. My buddy chuck is ordering some so we'll get to field test some of them this year too.

Well I went back to the game fair today, sportsmans had the life size ghg sleeper canada floaters for 65 a box, so I had them price match that from the two boxes I bought last weekend, then bought another box today.

So I have my water goose spread finished, 28 lifesize sleeper, 8 rester. :D

But what I wanted to say, is that I talked to the FA staffer, and on that floater I said was way to light, I was wrong. He told me that was last years model, then showed me this years model.

This years model is a lot better, due to a lot of people saying they were to light, so it looks like a decent decoy.

I still stick by what I said about the rest, the lesser is a little on the light side, not to bad look, but just to light for me. The blue does look like it got dusted with white spray paint, its to light for me.

God that juvy snow deke is nice looking though, they definitely are a nice looking snow decoy all together.

Still holden out for the Dakotas. Going to order a box of feeders with them. Really like the Full bodies I have. It would be great if someone on the inside track would let us know when they hit market, you know who you are  .
I'm getting as nerved up as my dogs, with the cool weather we've had here
