Hey guys Im hoping someone can help me out on tuning my cackler call. I got the call off of a buddy and it just doesnt sound right. I think it needs a little fine tuning. I really dont want to send it to the shop just because season is right around the corner :D :D Sept 1 that is and i might need it i doubt it but there is that chance. So I was wondering if someone could help me out by posting up or maybe if there is a pro staffer around the area maybe we could meet up and help me out. All the info posted is much appreciated.

Without knowing exactly what the call is doing....I can offer you this advice.....make sure the top of the reed fits in the top of the tone channel so that there is no overlap on the top side of the tone channel and so that the gap between the reed and the top is nearly nothing.
For a cackler, I think a good way to have them tuned is a bit less than half of the reed showing above the wedge. If this doesn't help, please ask again....I am in a bit of a hurry right now.....hope this helps

Just got the cackler a few weeks ago. I wanted it for early season to sound like the youngsters but it also has a great low end if you really choke the call down. I think its very easy to go back and forth from high low. It will never leave my lanyard. Hope you like it!

Yea I figured out that you can hit the low notes and also get so high that it would hurt your ears if you blew it in the house. Awesome addition to the lanyard and I agree with you ganderlander that it will never come off. Thanks again guys
