what do you guys put on your wood calls to prevent them from getting scratched up?

Saw it in my dad's shop. So can't help you on the price. Can't be more than 3-5 dollars. Just my guess though. I am going to apply it when I start the season and after. I don't want the calls to crack up. I apply with a towel.
