What are everyones thoughts of these three calls. I have just enough money to buy one and was looking for opinions.

All three calls are great, I have all 3 Smm in single reed the other two in double reeds. If you need volume for open water the SMM is the way to go, if you are hunting timber or looking for something softer the Timber Rattler is the ticket, but if you are looking for something that would be at home in just about any hunting environment the DMM in Double reed is the thing. It has quickley become my favorite of the 3, but all three are outstanding. I would probably recommend the DMM for now, and then as funds become available you might pick up one of the others. Which ever one you choose, you won't be dissapointed.

all of those calls will do fine, it depends on what your going to use them for weather it be flooded timber or open water. my opinion is the dead meat mallard becouse it can call in almost any hunting situation yet i have only tested this call on a beaver pond near my house just to make shure it calls ducks, I have my call tuned as a singal reed and that dose the trick, The call gets reel quiet and reel loud so you cover all bases and the dead meat mallard has that reel raspy ducky sound to it that is just plain ducky. but thats just my opinion.

Again, all great calls, but if it came down to one call: Dead Meat Mallard (double reed for hunting). For shear volume: SMM single reed. And honestly I think the TR is a great call, but almost not even necessary with the new DMM. TR is a mellow timber call, but in single reed it can get plenty loud enough. But again for just one call for hunting, go with the Dead Meat Mallard. That's my .02

Before I get started, I just wanna say that's a cool avatar 1316mauler! :D Looks like you know how to put out a killer goose spread, fullbodies in the shallows with floaters out in the water!!! I can't see it all but its lookin good what I can see. Anyway, I have yet to blow a DMM. I do blow a SMM single reed and a double reed TR. I like the volume I get from my SMM (it sounds good too), but I especially like my TR because its so freakin' ducky its not even funny! I got my TR a few months ago so have yet to use it in the field, even though me and Iowamigr8tor landed a hen mallard right on shore by my pond. We had 6 fullbody GHG mallards set up. Needless to say we have the itch, since its not even hunting season and we set up dekes!

I love my TR double reed, but the DMM is the best call I've heard. Extremely ducky.

Yea I would go with the DMM in double reed. but it would be up to you if you wanted it in double or single.

As was said before, all three have their place if you have them all. If I was to recommend one call out of the three to a person who could only have one....it would be a DMM. It is nothing but duck from top to bottom.....it ain't gonna ring, but it does everything else with great volume, and volume that is CONTROLLABLE.

And along the way if you are gonna add another, I recommend a TR, this is my personal favorite, it is nasally, nasty, duck......great low end duck chatter and quacks. Let us know what you decide.....hope this helps, any other questions, please feel free to ask......

As everyone said it all depends on where you hunt such as timber,or open water. If I hunted both I would go with a dmm. It is a great all around call and could be used for both timber and open water. If you hunt only open water I would go with a smm. If you only hunt timber I would go with a tr or a dmm. Again the call of choice all depends on the area you are hunting.

id get the tr or the dmm, there both pure duck, the only place i can see the tr not being loud enough is in open water when its windy, that being said the tr is really easy on the lungs, but i only have the tr so i cant say much for the dmm.

You guys have all helped me make my decision as well. Thanks.

Currently, I own only two Foiles calls: the MG and the SMH. I have several inexpensive duck calls: Primos, Haydel's, etc.. Recently I've been wanting to buy a Foiles but couldn't make up my mind. Looks like it will be the DMM. Thanks again.

JB, I'm going with the double reed in mallard green.

That's a good looking pup you have there. Scout turns 3 this Thursday. We'll both be going into our second waterfowl season.
