If you are talking about the acrylic call, then yes.

They bored down insert that will help you out with back pressure, and its a great sounding call. It tunes very easy as well. I owned one for a couple years, and now gave it to a buddy to help him learn how to call. It works very well for that.

i would suggest this also,

or a foiles high plains honker, that call is very easy to blow,

dont have any experience with a power clucker though

I got an smh for my first goose call and love it. ive only been calling for about a month so i was in your position not to long ago. i had no experience blowing a goose call, so testing a bunch wasn't gonna help me choose. i just researched and read reviews on a bunch of different calls and settled with the smh. the call is pretty easy to blow and to crack open, and theres an infinite amount of help from the staffers on here if you have problems.

i feel though no matter what call you do decide to get, in the end the only thing you got to remember is to practice, practice, practice, and to not get frustrated. i blew a duck call for a few years before i ever picked up a short reed, and the difference in blowing the two are apples and oranges.

my advice to give to you would be to buy an inexpensive short reed and learn to make a few basic sounds, and then go test drive different higher end calls to see what you like.

Just bought the poly power clucker to mess around with since it is so cheap. I blew a friend's last year and was really impressed. Crisp and clean sounding and pretty loud for poly. I got mine last week and mine sounds like $h!T. I have tried tuning it for the last two evenings with no sucess. Seems like the guts don't fit really tight in the insert. I wonder if that is the problem. But if you pick it up and can make some goose sounds then I would get it.

I had a power clucker when I was first learning and I couldn't sound like a goose with it. Ended up doing most of my learning on a smh...which was fairly easy to learn on. I've been using short reeds for 4 years now and honestly still can't blow a power clucker very well. The big bell shaped end is uncomfortable to me and I don't like the gut system in zink calls either. IMO there are a lot better calls out there for the money.

If you are looking for a less expensive alternative to acryllic or wood, take a look at the Cole's Carnage Collector. The CCC is one of if not the best polycarb calls ever made. It sounds great. Theprice is reasonable, and you can bet I have one on my lanyard right next to all those Foiles Acryllic calls.

one of my buddys got a poly power clucker last year and he was never able to make his sound like a goose, yet when he would try my SMH he sounded o.k. but not as good as me tho, since he doesnt practice very often.

The poly Zink calls are junk from what I have seen and experienced.

But the acrylic power clucker would be great.

I as well as many had a SMH for my first goose call, and is actually the call I passed on to my father for him to learn on.

I would still say the clucker is a better call for you.

The power clucker doesn't have a big bell on it, and the clucker guts are well known as great guts.

Foiles own Big Sean used them even when he switched to Foiles. I have heard he still uses them in his contest call, but I don't know for sure, so I will leave that up to an honest staffer.

If you think the power clucker has a big bell end then you haven't used the power clucker, the Little Man, SR1, and Money Maker do.
