So I found a box of Remington Nitro Steel shells that have been in my garage for about 4 years. Its hot and humid here in summer and freezing in winter. They look ok... but should I use them?

I would shoot a couple off before going out. I used to use remington shot and several years ago I had a problem with a box of shells. It was January and I was about out of shells and we had a field loaded with birds to hunt the next morning. I didn't have time to get more shells so I grabbed a box of my old remingtons. I ended up wearing gun powder all morning with bbs rolling out the end of my barrel. I was very p*ssed to say the least. But if you shoot a couple of shells and they both go off, I'm sure the rest of the box will be good as well.

ahh, they should be fine. i've used shells that sat in my blind all winter and in the back of my truck. unless their completly rusted out; i wouldn't worry about it.
