OK I took one of sweet things Tupperware contains and drill a bunch of 1/2" hole in it and one large hole for the vacuum hose.
I have been running each call in it about 1/2 hour and then checking it out.
I can not believe the difference this makes in a call. I am now running each one for at least another hour.
You adjust the amount of air through the call by covering up the 1/2 inch holes.
Thanks

No it sounds like he is hooking the vac up to the tupperware and sucking the air thru the tupperware with the call placed inside, then controlling how much vacuum suction by how many holes he has open on the container, am I correct Hammer?

I actually just set the call on top of one of the holes and let the air go through the call to get into the tupperware then into the vacuum.

I have the chessest Buck Gardner call acrylic call.

You can start to tell a difference at about a 1/2 hour. 1 hour makes is seem really nice. I have ran one Foiles call about 4 hours a market hunter. It did not seem to make as big of differance from the 1 hour session.
Currently I have a wood wing-lock call on it.
The Buck Gardner Canada Hammer call is junk. The overnight session did smooth it out a bit but man what a lame call.
I like practicing on the bad calls because if you can blow them the others are a dream.
Anyone learning how to blow a call should break it in first. That way they do not have to fight the new call stiffness.

Just FYI:
If your Vac is old enough to have a discharge port that the hose will attach to.. As in Electrolux. Thats telling my age..
The higher temped air on that side of the process will speed up the work considerable...
A new unshaved reed helps and check to see where the wear is happening. U might have spent the time creating something unusable that 10 min into the process would have shown marks and let ya correct .

Just curious......how long does it take to break in a SMH without doing the vacuum thing?? For someone who does not do contests and maybe goes a little while between practicing calling? Thanks.

Thanks for the Tip Mr.Green.
I do not let it run wide open and keep it to making the party horn sound. I thought the cooler would be less risky and I do not have a exhaust port on that vacuum but I do on my shop vac.
Thanks
