I have been kicking around getting an HPH for the different pitch, but what would I get if I tuned a Cackler down a bit. Can you tell me if/any differences. I love my SMH, just want a different sound to through out there.

I love the cackler to flip geese on their heels...

If you want a medium high pitch go HPH if you want High go cackler.

I think a SMH and a cackler are the way to go.

I agree. I've blown the HPH and it sounds good and it will be on my lanyard eventually, but you can do anything you want with the SMH and Cackler. I just got the Cackler recently and it is a must for the lanyard. I'm really looking forward to using it on the fresh crop of geese. Plus it is real easy to blow on and if you hunt water you can choke it down real easy so you're not as loud and open it up and wail on it in the field.

I think i have to agree with them both. The HPH is a good call for the inbetween sound and the cackler is High. I would recommend the SMH and SMC combo that Krees also mentioned.

Cool, thanks for the info and input everyone. I just need to get some other calls sold and get a SMC.

Is it just me or does the HPH take a lot more air to blow than a SMH? I find the SMH much easier to blow. Maybe the HPH is not tuned right? I don't know how to tune them so I just blow them the way they come.

It is probably the way it is tuned. All of Foiles' calls are easy to blow. Perhaps whoever tuned it, tuned it a bit harder than normal. You can send it back to the shop, or call the shop to have someone walk you through it. Anymore questions, please ask!!

I agree with the SMH and SMC combo on your lanyard also, I keep two lanyards a duck lanyard and a goose lanyard. I keep an HPH on my duck lanyard for those occasions where you are primarily hunting ducks and might get a stray goose to come through. It is a great call also and will always have a spot on my lanyard and in my blind bag, for my goose lanyard I really like to keep the SMH, SMC, and Meat Cutter close at all times. Between those three calls you should be able to make the sounds any goose would want to hear. Try the SMC you will love it.
