do you guys think that it is fair to have call makers as judges? Just a thought!!!Yes, and I wish it had been all call makers as judges. One judge isn't going to swing the contest, and I believe that the major call makers would be the best qualified judges

I think that the judges should be past world champs. Or, maybe even have called their way out of competing in the Worlds.
Those that have been proving their talent time and time again, should be the judges.
Just my $.02.
I've had a thought for a while, again I'm no contest caller.....
What if you take away the acrylics. Take away the calls they know. Give them Poly calls, STOCK, poly calls. No broke in guts, no hand tuning. Just a stock out of the package poly call. Do you think that would extremely even out the playing field?
Just a thought.

Hey, If everybody got a stock poly Supermag or Shorty I'd take a go at it. IMO poly doesn't sound much different anyways.

I know Scotty sounds phenomenal on a poly. I've heard a few others on poly calls and they sound good too. But, they are doctored calls.
I think you should have to use the poly call of the company you staff for. Or if you aren't a staffer, what ever call you are using for comps, use their Poly call. I know, stipulations, but it keeps things interesting.

I know what you are saying. But those would be my 2 choices if I had to run a poly for comps

A unified call kinda like baseball. Everyone has to use the exact same model call fresh out of the wrapper. The only mods would be tuning the standard call to fit yourself. The judges will design the call and send them to a machine shop for turning.
Would it work???
