Yeah it really sucked. We scouted and scouted and the birds just changed their minds. We didnt overdue it on the decoys or calling, so I am at a loss as to what was goin on. We need to find a silege field or hay field to hunt out of. Still have alot of season left so I am not discouraged yet. Well get um, just have to find another place.

Dont feel bad guys, we did not have very good success either today. We only shot two geesse. We had a few circle a couple times and then they boogied. You know the routine, let the circle one last time and then they dissapear. This is the first opener in 6 or 7 years we have not had our limit by 9:30. Hope tommorow will be alot better.

Same story here, the geese this mourning kinda threw us a curve. Every mourning for the past couple of weeks the geese would fly from the north and land in the field we had secured, which worked would work out well for us because this was the only direction in our immediate area that didn't have us getting cut off. This mourning they were coming from everywhere but north, thus we got cut off all mourning. :(

Thats what happens in the early season, those birds aren't in a set pattern yet....real skiddish and hard to predict.....just gotta find those flight lines and perhaps lady luck will be on your side....keep at it boys!!!!
