I was looking at getting a patternmaster and was torn between the long range and the extended range. I hunt ducks and geese over honkers, but they tend to get a little skittish. What are the opinions as far as which on would help me be the most effective.

if you will usually be shooting 3 1/2" shells then definitely get the extended, if not the long range would work fine

Extended is the way to go IMO. With 3.5 shells these things do work son! Dropped a honker last year at 80 yards right up the fart pipe. The Extended range is no joke. The Heavy Shot might have had a little something to do with it aswell.

In my gun. shooting all different loads 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2. the standard or long shoots almost identical to the ext. range. the ext may shoot 2-7% tighter in a 30" circle. If your on a budget go with the long. If you want it to look really good buy the ext, and looking good is always important.
