Kind of a lame post. I hope some people with experience with these two guns will answer. I want to buy a new shotgun, and am interested only in the Winchester SuperX3 in waterfowl, and the Berreta Xtrema2 with K/O technology in waterfowl. Please list positives and negatives if you can. No I'm not interested in a Benelli.

Super X3 is a awesome gun in my book! I haven't shot the Beretta X2 w K/O but around here that gun retails at $1600 and the Super X3 is around $1100. So it all up to what you wanna spend. Like anything in this sport just how much you wanna spend!!

I have a super X2 and love it but if I purchase another gun it will probably be an extrema2, I've heard lots of good things about it and its supposedly the least kicking semiauto there is which means faster recovery time between shots better followup shots and what not. But I've never actually shot one personally just held one in the store and wished I had one :)

The super X3 is a good gun in my books to seems to point very well and still doesn't kick a whole lot. The extrema2 is an awesome gun but is a little more expensive both guns will always shoot when you pull the triger. In my opinion I would buy the super X3 its more of a slim gun. Just my 2 cents

i have an xtrema2 AND IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! enough said.. doesnt have the k/o on it.. but doesnt need it.. this thing is a work horse.. it cycles amazingly well and the kick even with 3 1/2's is barely noticable while hunting.. doesnt leave u with a sore shoulder after a long day of missing

ive shot a beretta 391 for 4 yrs without any trouble.
all kinds of loads 2 3/4 to 3 inch with out the 1st problem.
very easy to take apart and clean.
im not saying the winch.aint a good gun but my beretta has performed flawless for me......craig

Dont lie bringemdown, you have the original extrema (just because gander mountain lied to you and told you it was an extremea 2 when you bought it doesnt turn it into a new extrema 2) ... and you cant hit anything with it  ... regardless it is a nice gun though :!:

Thank you deadduck6. I am honestly starting to lean towards the Extrema2. Definately not a solid decision yet though. Anybody have any cost comparisons? My dealer said to expect to pay the same basic amount but from what I've seen and read Suggested retail is going to be significantly higher on the Extrema2.

I've got an extrema 2 and my brother has the winchester x3. You get what you pay for, right? Well, you pay a significant amount for either choice and they both give you a significant amount of well-performing firepower. The fact that the beretta is made in italy is one reason for the higher cost. One might also say that the components in the beretta are better too. Popular opinion is that the extrema 2 is one of the top two duck guns out there, right? I think the answer is as simple as this: If you have the extra $$$ to buy the beretta, buy it man. I will say the beretta's recoil is less than the winchester - if that sort of thing matters to you.

Another VERY IMPORTANT note is that my beretta cycles the cheapest dove loads you can buy. My brothers' x3 does not. So with the x3 you will probably need to buy higher grade dove loads unless you want to shoot a single shot!

I also want to apologize for posting this response in the "ask the pro-staff" forum. I am not a pro-staffer, but do have a good deal of experience with both of these guns and felt that my thoughts would provide a little insight, plus, every now and then a duck hunter has to go against the grain and actually help another duck hunter out - just so long as they don't shoot his ducks. So please, if you do buy the beretta you are no longer allowed to hunt the mississippi flyway. Sorry homes, those are the rules. :D

Good luck!

I just picked up an Extrema 2 in August. That gun has not let me down yet throughout the September season. I had a Urika last year which would jam up every now and then and wasn't the easiest to clean, but my Extrema has cycled every shell that I've put through it even when it's covered in mud or hasn't been cleaned since a few hunts back. I don't have much experience with other semis, but the Extrema breaks down in less than a minute; the actual receiver is a continuation of the barrel which makes it ridiculously easy to clean and the whole bolt assembly is removable. You mentioned wanting KO, but I really think it's unnecessary, as others have mentioned. Recoil even with 3.5" shells is really negligible.

Thanks guys I'm going out to shoot a friend of a friend of mines X3 today and then I'll try to find Xtrema2 to shoot. I can definately feel myself leaning toward the Xtrema2, maybe without KO.

price difference between the 2 guns is almost the same unless u geet the xtrema 2 wih the k/o system then ur leaning towards 1500$ or more

I shoot an Xtrema 1 and I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING. Shot 3.5 inch T's on a Sunday, on Tuesday was out shooting skeet with Winchest AA trap loads 2 3/4...ejects like a dream

The X3 will do the same. I went from 3.5 Ts in the morning early goose hunt to light dove loads that afternoon.

Guys I appreciate all the replies and tips-info. After handling both guns today, I believe I've come up with my decision, and the X3 came out on top unless I find an Extrema2 dirt cheap, which probably aint gonna happen. Thanx again to everybody.
