Me and a couple of my buddies were thinking bout going out to North Dakota to hunt some ducks and geese. Just wondering if anyone out there could help me out and let me know where to go and the best time to go out. Thanks

Reports are saying good numbers of ducks. But, DRY, DRY, DRY. Both of the Dakotas are saying DRY.
Guess that means more pressure on the rivers.

Well the whole state has its ups and downs right now. Western part is just about worthless and there are just small pockets of birds. The central has always been good and from minot down south to bismark is fairly decent. I used to live there during my high school days and would put on almost 6-700 miles a week scouting and shooting birds I loved it. But that area has been really dry the last few years and now there are just the larger sloughs left and the big lake is probably your best shot but the hunting pressure this whole fall will be very very heavy so intense scouting is a MUST! But now I live in eastern ND going to school and over here we had a lot more rain and there is decent amounts of birds with migratirs showing up consistently now. Last weekend limits of geses and ducks were within an hour. But then again theres lots of pressure almost too much IMO. Then with this weekend NR season opens up which will add more pressure so get there early to your spot or you won't have one. Devils lake is great for divers but that place is the worst for pressure but if you do everything right you can have one of the greatest hunts ever. Good Luck!

A local Fargo radio station last week said there are more waterfowl in the area than ever due to all the rain we have had. I see alot of geese and mallards on the way to work so if you come to the fargo area you should get some good hunting. GOODLUCK.
