How do you guys store your shells. stacked or put together. Because with the few instructions that came it said not to stack them or the paint could chip.

well how else can you put them together i really don't think that you wanna take a bunch of shells and put them in their own bags. either way the paint is going to chip thats just something that you gotta expect.

I also have the hot buys. what I am wondering is how long you have had yours for, and what kind of conditions they have been through

They are durable. But, with any decoy, if you don't take care of them, the paint is going to chip. I pull the heads off and stack them. The over-size shells are much easier for this due to them having the stud-lock heads, not the twist tabs like the hot buys. If you can afford the over-size, go with them. They look gooood. (Flock the tails if you want too...I did)

i havnt had any problems with the hot buys so far i used them pretty hard for 1 season.(river with lots of sand) i have broke 1 head but that was really my fault. and yes the heads are not the best set up in the world but i have seen worse.

Stacking them i think is the best way for transportation. Paint chipping is something you need to expect, some brands worse than others. Maybe stacking them and putting them into a decoy bag wouldnt hurt. I have had my shells for 2 years now and hunted them 3 days a week during the season. The paint tends to chip off a little on the sides, but nothing major that a little touch-up paint wont fix. Bottom line...take care of them and they will take care of you!
