Well, One minute I was worried that I had to work Saturday and the next minute late at night Friday I get a call saying I have it off, so I am on the horn trying to find somewhere to hunt! A buddy of mine said they had room for 1 guy, so away I went. We got the monkey off our back and got out and harvested some ducks! We pulled out of North Muskegon at 3am and were heading north about an hour or so. We were going to a VERY remote beaver pond that required a good treck. We got set up, shooting hours begins and NOTHING! About 35 minutes into it the ducks started coming. We dropped 3 right off the bat, then in another volley we dropped 3 and ALL 3 we couldn't find. This pond was so thick with underwater debris and weeds, that the bastards dove and that was all she wrote. We sent the dog back and forth forever and stomped up to the top of our waders trying to stir something up. All the while we had ducks trying to drop in and we were standing there with our pants down practically. Nonetheless, we didn't kill a limit (but we should've), but it was one hell of a day spent with great people, thats what really matters to me in the end.

Better than I did for the Sat morning opener. Fired my gun 4 times= 1 dead hen mallard and a psycho racoon(long story).

Ducks were just not their for some reason. Area I hunted was loaded with ducks all last week.

yea it was crazy...that wood duck box must have been 20 years old, I have NO clue who would go through the trouble of going back to where we were to hang a wood duck box, it was a bitch to get to.
