How did the twins do in that one game playoff?
Always will be a die hard cubs fan! Other than the yankees and cubs what other team sells out every single game. They don't call them the lovable losers for nothing.

It's not that hard considering Wrigley has one of the smallest seating capacities of all of the major league ballparks. Big city+small ballpark=seats full. I hate the Cubs with a passion and I thought it was just awesome that they got swept by the Dodgers. A buddy that I work with and myself summed up why the Cubs will never win the World Series in 5 words.....BECAUSE THEY'RE THE CHICAGO CUBS.

So you think that 45,000 people a single game is a little amount for a ballpark?? I would disagree with that.. Wrigley field had over 4 million people at their park this year.... i'm a huge cubs fan, but you're right about one thing they will NEVER win a world series... but i'd rather be a cubs fan than a white sox fan anyday..

LOL busted...
I'm a diehard and life long Cubs fan. This was the year to win it, now next season we will be paying millions more for the same team (minus some minor players). I'm so upset that a team so good could just crash and burn AGAIN. Oh well, still got the 1st place Bears to root for now and Blackhawks/Bulls will be playing very soon!

No Bandwagon here, I joined in the early 80's.
Glad I did so too. 2005 was a year of baseball no Cubs fan will EVER get to experience.

how many other fan bases in the major leagues would continue to sell out every game if they hadn't won a World Series in 100 years???....and Wrigley is small because its an old stadium and the Cubs so far aren't sell out's and abandoning their history like the Stankees did this year.....yeah it was probably imminent that the Cubs would self destruct and blow it yet again, but they'll be back to win the Central AGAIN next year and find a new way to blow it....Go Cubs Go!!

It seems you haven't been there in a while, or are speaking from ignorance. The projects have mostly been torn down.
The only person shot outside a ball park lately was last year (or 2006) outside Wrigley, by the way. He died.
The White Sox neighborhood is actually not that bad. While it doesn't have the bars and the yuppie neighborhoods around it, it seriously isn't that bad. I've walked around it to get to local bars, and had no problems whatsoever. I also have friends (white) that live in the neighborhood, and have no issues.
For me, the tail-gating is the real attraction. That parking lot is a lot of fun before the games. It's like a Bears game.

AJ jumped right into the brawl but the sox bench was all over barrett. I will never forget that game it was on 4th or 5th of july. 5 sox players were suspended for that brawl. Not to mention one of the biggest brawls in the stands.
At least on the south side you dont have to deal with all the gothic freaks that run around wrigleyville.
Good point c10

Poor Chicago....
Twenty major events that have occurred since the Chicago Cubs
last laid claim to a World Series championship:

Cubs fans got to hear their team lose.

4. George Burns celebrated his 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th,
50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th and 100th birthdays.

championships in each league.

There's nothing to cheer about."

more fielding and more hitting couldn't help."

I honestly thought this year the Cubs would at least be NL champs, if not WS champs. But then again, they are the Cubs and they screwed themselves. The Dodgers didn't beat them, they beat themselves.....kinda like scratching on the 8-ball.
