Me and some of my hunting buddies finally got on a good sized bunch of geese. They're sitting in a corn field next to a new pond. We found out who owned the field and all the fields around it. We got the phone numbers and called all of the people. Not one of them gave us permission. Its not like we are bad people with a bad reputation. I just cant figure it out. Why do people care about other people hunting their fields when their not even close to their house?

Big Ed....
its tough to get permission sometimes...and yes, believe me there is a lot of rejection but don't give up....just got to keep looking for more areas and keep asking....also, it helps ALOT to speak to the person face to face...I know its not possible all the time...but if they are local...go knock on their door...dress neatly and look "respectable" as possible...be polite and attentive. Don't show up with 3 or four of your buddies either...this scares landowners...pick one person to go and do the talking.I don't mean to nitpick or anything but these little things mean alot when dealing with this issue......I think more often than not...the face to face method works....at least for me it has....and if it will work in NJ.....its gotta work EVERYWHERE....this is one of the biggest anti hunting places you'll find anywhere....
good luck

i was reading this little booklet at shields and it gave a bunch of info like decoys spread ect... but it also gave tips on how to get permission and stuff to do when you get permission. it gave tips like wineing and dinning the land owner, and go shoot the **** with him sometime, like in the off season. but dont go bother him when there farming cause i guess that pisses them off. but basicly get to know them and there family and become friends with them. just my 2 cents.

i agree with every thing take the land owner to breakfast talk to them one on one but tell them how many people will be hunting with you ask if there is somewhere they want vehicles parked remember if they say no ask why its probally cause some slob left a bad impression let them know your not stop back next year to see if they need a hand even if they told you no to the hunt this year
