Need some prayers guys [Archive]

One of my good friends, mentor and part time riding coach took a spill today in practice for the races this weekend. He has a broken hip, clavicle and severe bain trauma. He has been unconcious and unresponsive since this morning and cannot breath on his own.

I'm completely ****ed up over this deal. I raced with him and watched him win a Championship 5 days ago.

My father used to race motorcycles, and his career ended from a crash which shattered his hip and screwed him up bad.

So my prayers go out to your colleague.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know what its like to see a buddy get screwed up. My friend broke his back last year on sled will making a video. But luckly he is recovering very well. The best if luck

Thanks guys! Looks like he got through the night. He's in an induced coma and they are trying to get the brain swelling down. His hip is shattered and will need to be replaced.

Thanks guys! He has become slightly responsive to voices but is still on life support. Lacerated kidney, broke pelvis, broke hip, broke clavicle and the head injury.

They figure he was doing 160 or so when he went down and hit a cement wall about 45 feet away from the initial crash.

He's a tough little bastard though, my money says he'll be racing again in 12 months.

11st 24 to 72 hours are the most critical Kelly - good chance he'll pull though - if he got responsive without getting combative there's pretty good hope.

Just got home from Colorado Springs. Left yesterday at 3 pm, did 1300 miles round trip. Got to spend about 10 minutes with him and a few hours with the family. Brutal....absolutly brutal to see your buddy like that.

Kelly - sounds like a great groupd of friends and family helping out - with support like that he'll be better in no time at all.

I have to believe they wouldn't move on to the orthpoedic surgery phase if they weren't certain he could handle it. As long as he keeps fighting the pneumonia and the infections he's gonna do great.

Ya, it's amazing how many people have come forward. We have recieved thousands of dollars (over 10k easy) in product donations for the auction I'm running.

Major thing this has taught me and something I've thought hard on.

Ask yourselves if something like that happened to you right now...have you treated so many people that well that they would come to your aid that quickly? By the hundreds?

I know I havent, but will work hard in the future to change that.
