Looks like we're going to have to fire up the Indiana hunting season thread again this year! 8) We've got alot of new guys on here from Indiana! Awesome! I love to see how all the guys in Indiana are doing this season. So post up your stories, where you're from, and any pics you have on here, and we can keep track of the Indiana season! Post up also and let us know what you are seeing and if you are noticing any new birds or migrators coming thru, It'll help some guys I'm sure. Good luck guys and look forward to looking through this thread all season and seeing everyones stories! By the way, for those that would be interested, we are going to have a calling seminar/ goose hunting seminar this October at the Gander Mtn. store in Greenwood, I'll post up the date and time as soon as it's set, look forward to having as many of you guys as can make it, and meeting everyone!

I'll be the 1st to put up some pics! This was from opening day, got shut out of some fields with lots of geese in them, so plan B, we went after some doves, but also were able to run alittle traffic on some geese and got a few, 1 band. That's Duck Hunter Paul, me with calls, Thad (DHP's brother in law), and our friend Darrel

Went out today to shoot some doves (early goose season went out yesterday! :( ). We had a great time! 5 guys and 5 limits, took about 2 hrs. or so, man was it fast and furious at the beginning! It was hard to keep up with how many were down and where, I had my dog with me only and he was pretty worn out by the end of it. 75 doves in all. Duck Hunter Paul and I took our boys with us, they had a great time, and we let them shoot some doves (already dead) out of an old deadfall (we put them up to let them knock them down) with their BB gun. Also let them shoot the big gun once (12 gauge). They had a great time. Overall great morning! 8) Here's a few pics.

Here is Duck Hunter Paul and his boy Brett (in front left), Claude, Mike, Me (in sunglasses in back) and my son Andrew, and Thad (DHP's brother in law)

The kids are the future of Hunting. We as responsible Hunters need to take our kids out every time we have an opportunity. And it can be really fun. How many of you have ever watched a 5 year old get rocked by a 12 gauge and say it was awesome.

To post pics, you need to host your photo online, I use photobucket.com. Once you've hosted them, when you reply on the forum and want to post the pic, type in the text you want to say, then enter to a new line, then click the Img tab at the top, then you will put the url address for the photo, then click the *Img tab at the top, and submit. To put multiple images on one post, just make sure and enter to a new line for each photo and repeat the process above. Note: to make it alittle easier, I will highlight the url address at photobucket.com for the photo that I want to post, then copy it, then go back to the forum reply and paste it, otherwise you'll need to write down the entire url address and just type it in. I hope this helps and look forward to seeing your pics!

Drake, I hunt mostly Central and Southern Indiana, so not real familiar with Monticello area, I'm sure there is some decent hunting in that area, you have Lake Shafer and Lake Freeman and also the Tippecanoe River, I don't know about public hunting areas other than those, except maybe Willow Slough or LaSalle, both are draws in the morning to hunt, and usually alot of parties waiting. Good luck though.

Opening day of early Indiana season, we went out and shot 6 teal on the marsh, we had about 100 geese fly out from the roost and set up on a surrounding corn field and tried to catch them coming back to the roost, but they didn't want to cooperate, we waited them out till about noon, but they never showed up, so we went over to some flooded timber real quick and shot 3 woodies, and it was time to head home. Not what we counted on, but overall a great time!
