Congrats and welcome to a VERY Addictive sport!!! And thanks for choosing FMI for your waterfowl call needs!!!

Between that CD and if you purchase Jeff's Callin' Geese 2.0 DVD, you should be covered my man!!! The DVD allows you versaility in the house - freedom to pause, rewind, fast forward, replay 1000 times, etc. while the CD affords you basically the same in the vehicle!!!

Good luck!!! If you have any specific questions post up and we'll get you some answers!!!!

Welcome to the site!!!

I think everyone on here will agree, Strait Meat sounds was ok, but calling geese 2.0 DVD will be of alot more help, you can order it from the shop (main page). Good luck, and if we can be of any help just ask, we all had to start out new as well! :x

I'd just like to "ditto" what the guys said about the DVD. AWESOME tutorial. Hearing the sounds (CD) is certainly helpfull but you'll get more from the DVD; watching how Jeff holds the call, moves his jaw, etc.. There's also hunting footage with some nice "angry" music playing in the background. Well worth the money.

I'm also new to goose hunting (just going into my 2nd season) and the MG was my 1st "real" call as well.

Good luck.[/b]

Started blowing the call last night, listened to the cd. certainly helped being able to hear what the call is supposed to sound like. I think I am gonna order the dvd next week. Gonna need a lot of practicing!!!!!

You're starting out the right way brother... with a "real" call. I started with some cheapies last year and probably scared off a lot of geese; not to mention annoy a lot of hunters. These Foiles calls are the real deal. You get what you pay for and I think these calls are worth every penny.

My prediction is that, after watching the DVD and becoming a little more proficient, you'll have another one hanging on your lanyard by the end of the season.

Good luck.

EEERRRRRR this things tough  ! Every time I think I got the cluck down, I blow again and it sounds completely off!!!! And forget the double cluck. AHHH :x my wife is getting tired of me too  Ohh well guess I'll just keep at it, maybe by this time next season I wont sound like an allready shot goose

Start with the basics. Dont move from the greeting call until you can pick up the call and produce the note without thinking of it. Once you master the greeting call shorten it up to just the cluck. Sit there and only cluck. You should produce the same note until it is perfect and then do it some more. If you go to fast you will mess everthing up that you have built up. Learn one note at a time and then once you have mastered them all start combining them. The CD should help in that respect but definately go get the Calling Geese 2.0 DVD it will show you everything! Oh and dont worry about the Double Cluck quite yet. A True Double cluck is a "mating" call if you will, a note produced by two content geese in the spring. Once you learn the cluck a good way to think of a double cluck is two different geese clucking. One high cluck and one low cluck. Hope this helps a little.

Welcome to the site, to your new addiction, and congrats on your new call, thank you for chosing FMI, and good luck with learning it, the most important advice I can give you is keep practicing, and don't give up. The CD and DVD is a great combo for any caller new or seasoned. If their is anything any of us can help you with let us know.

I also just started using the grinder, and am having trouble not blowing the air from my cheeks. I can not seem to get that deep throaty sound out of hte call. any tips?

KSHonker, you may need to have the call tuned a little deeper, or try throwing a bit of voice inflection to it, I sometimes kind of growl a bit in it when clucking or blowing the hale call, and this gives me a nice deep gravely old gander sound.
