Well, we struck out of birds early on. Our shooting was great. We have taken 20 birds in 4 hunts and taken 23-25 shots. Between 2 of us. The birds here seen to be on the move. I am seeing more and more bigger(# wise) flocks.

Which sucks, cause it is supposed to rain this whole weekend

we are slow compared to last year at this time. we only have 10 birds so far. last year we had 18 at this time. birds are in the field today, set up in the morning, and nothing shows. we had a field I had scouted on tuesday and wed. had at least 100 or more birds in it and we set up on thursday, 1 loner. had a couple pairs do fly bys but not interested. I think some one may have jumped them off the road. IDIOT. well I feel better now that I have vented.

Early season in northern wisconsin was pretty good went out 4 days and between three of us we ended up with 33 geese. No bands though then again we never shoot anything banded up here.

Our early season here in Iowa pretty much sucked, besides the fact that I got a banded bird on Labor day. :D 4 of us shot 4 geese on labor day. Had a single come in and a flock of 3, nothing got away. Then I went down to my dads and hunted the Illinois teal season. We took limits of teal in short order saturday and sunday with 1 goose saturday and 2 sunday. Kingkilla and iowamigr8tor killed I think 8 geese this weekend out of a silage field during the state wide weekend season. Thats it so far, but the duck hunting already looks promising. Saw tons of pinnys and mallards at my dads this past weekend.

like killer miller said we havent done to good. but went out to the marsh a couple times this week and looks like duck season is going to be pretty damn good. probably saw 200- 300, and some geese but we cant shoot those again till early october.

I think this was the best early season I've seen in WI. I was hunting in ND for the first week, but when I got back there where birds all over the sweetcorn.
