Hey boys, I have a regular Patternmaster for my Benelli SBE. My buddy, Iowamigr8tor has a extended PM for 3 1/2 inchers for his SBE2. I am going to be shooting mid to lates season ducks and all geese with my PM. I always shoot 3 1/2 inchers at geese so I was just wondering if getting the extended Patternmaster would be worth the almost $100? I havent patterned it so I am just wondering if anyone else shoots 3 1/2 inchers out of their regular PM, because it seems to throw a great pattern whether 3 inchers or 3 1/2 inchers. Thanks guys.

Miller pull your head out of course you need the extended tube! You should of seen me destroy a hedge ball with it prior to jumping a pond. I "essentially" blew it up. It shoots a pretty dense pattern but if you are hitting um with the normal PM I would stick with it, I guess. But from what is on the PM website it says that the extended is for the 3 1/2" shells and the regular is for 2 3/4-3" but I'm shure it matters.

well i got a reg. p.m. in my 870 and its much better then stock tube 3 or 3-1/2 not that big a diff. also have the short range p.m. and have olny used it a couple times cant see that much diff from stock tubes. shoots kents the best. got a friend that shoots an x2 with an extended p.m. 3-1/2 winn. cheap shells (name??) and it dont print them much better than his fac. tubes. so you might not gain that much but its your money.

i have the extended in my super x2 and love it. its takin me some gettin used to since my previous gun was a fixed choke mod rem 1100. i was usin it durin teal season last weekend shootin win 3" xpert hi vel 4 shot and man did the feathers fly. the kid i was huntin with had a kick high flyer and he was even impressed with the way i was dustin teal. cant wait to see it on honkers and other ducks

I shoot a Ext. PM for everything.....mallards, teal, divers, geese.....and it blows em up. Takes a bit of gettin used to, expecially closer shots, cause you ain't got to lead em so much because of the tight pattern......but its great.....and I shoot all types of shot and all sizes 3 1/2 on down!!! Only need one, and its the Ext. From my experience, the regular one doesn't perform as well as the Ext.

I'm shooting the Ext. with the 3 1/2" and for 2 3/4" trap loads. Philly shoots the Standard with 3 1/2" and 2 3/4" and he is dustin birds just fine.

The best way to decide, is to shoot both of them on your own.

Good luck!
