Homemade KillerWeed

So, i've seen I've posted up here before about being able to make your own KillerWeed material for your blinds for less than 1/2 the cost, but never put up any pic's. So, here it is.

You can get the material at WalMart. It's in the craft section & it's called Rafia grass. Then all you have to do is get some RIT dye and color it to your liking.

A bit of advice, ware gloves & keep it on your lawn or an area you dont mind getting stained.

we started using the rafia years back to do our blinds, stuff works great. saves time and money!

i didn't even bother dying mine...figured weather + natural cover from the area on top would be good enough

What is RIT dye and where do you get it, I would like to make up some of the green like winter wheat-Thanks in advance

rit is clothes dye, wal-farts has it, in the laundry section most likley.

I have a real bag of killerweed and if you spread it out good you blind looks ok

I did the same, but used spray paint to paint mine. Probably should have dyed it instead would have came out better. I tried to find the rafia at walmart and didnt see it anywehere, Ihad to get it at a craft store and it cost a little more. Just curious how much a bag is at walmart?

It was laround $1.50 a pack. It's in the arts & crafts section.
