I'm getting ready to make some Dove Jerky and I was just wondering if any of you guys had any good recipes. We put the SMACK - DOWN on the doves so far this year. 3 Hunts and 165 birds. Hoosier Hunter and Myself have been giving the old SBEII's a workout so far.

What about Muntz, you shot quite a few birds, what did you do with yours?

Breast them out and marinate them in teryaki or soy sauce(cut 50/50 with water) then wrap the breast around a tooth pick , and wrap the whole thing with bacon, then grill and enjoy.

Have you ever tried Dales instead of Soy or Teryaki?

TAKE AND FILLET THE DOVE BREAST FROM THE BONE. STUFF WITH A PIECE OF PICKLED JALAPENO PEPPER. FOLD UP BREAST WRAP WITH BACON AND SPRINKLE WITH SEASON SALT STICK IT TOGETHER WITH A TOOTHPICK AND GRILL.

If you are planning on making some jerky try Hi Mountain jerky cures, they have about a dozen to choose from. If you're cooking them try this. Leave them on the bone, wrap them in bacon, marinade in marzetti's itailan dressing and then put them on the grill. You can't beat it!

Bryan's suggestions are really good... I personally use Moore's Marinade which you can purchase at walmart. Marinate the whole breasts for one hour then wrap bacon around it and shove a toothpick through em. Throw 'em on the grill over medium heat...awesome.

Oh yeah, I love Dale's marinade, but it has a little side effect, Let's just say my wife makes me sleep on the couch after I eat it :evil: :lol:
