Did okay on early geese, I got a banded bird on labor day! :D But the duck hunting has been really good so far. Hunted with my dad for early season teal and shot 3 guys the first day and killed a limit and a goose. And on sunday we had 4 guys and killed a limit of teal and 2 geese. Iowa duck opened saturday and we hunted 6 guys and killed our 36 in about an hour:9 mallards, 3 woodies, a pintail, a shoveler, and the rest teal!! :D My dad got a double banded greenhead with a green $100 reward band!!! 5 of us shot 22 on suday:7 woodies, 2 mallards and the rest teal. I went out yesterday with a buddy to a local marsh and we shot 6 teal 1 widgeon and 1 shoveler. I got my limit, I shot all but 2 of the teal :D Thats what I've done so far. I will be hunting in the morning for the last day of season.

Well...we had a banner early season.....our group shot 171 geese in the PA early season. We averaged over 20 birds per hunt!!!! Our duck season opens October 14th and we should have a helluva day that day if the ducks that are here now stay!!!
The weather change the last couple days of early season really helped bring some new birds in....and we made it count!!!!
Hope everyone had a great early season and good luck the rest of the year!!!!
We had our limit of mallards and 5 honkers in about 2 hrs. One of the mallards were banded and one goose was banded as well.
I was surprised to see that the honker was banded in oklahoma last year in June. He decided to be a local in SD this year instead, the mallard must have just been banded because there wasnt any band info available on it yet.

2 guys and 62 teal.
All in 8 hunts over a 3 weekend season. We had a lightening storm hit us and had to cut one hunt short by 2 birds. So much for a perfect season.
