Camo Coating Degrade Sound Quality?

Hey Fellas,

I just recently bought a DMM with Max-4 coating and it seems that no matter how I adjust the reed, the tone sounds muffled - losing the clarity and crack of acrylic. Honestly, I can't get the same sounds out of it as I can my other DMM's, which are black and chartruese. What's been your experience here? Anything I can do to change it?

Personally I think it changes the sound a bit. I have a Max 4 SMH and even with same set of guts out of my Go to. The Max 4 has a more mellow tone.
