Can anybody here give me some feedback on Shawn Stahl's Migrator 1 blind?
I'm 6"3" 265 lbs. and tried a M2, but it was a shoddy, ill designed, not durable over priced hunk of junk.
I have heard the M1 was much better?
I looked @ the FA Eliminator Pro Guide XL but it is too high profile, and not easy to transport, especially if you need to walk in a muddy field.
I'm pretty limited I guess in choices of laydown blinds that are currently on the market????
I wish that someone "reputable" would design & build in the USA a well built blind for us!!!! :!:
At any rate for the time being, can somebody give an old waterfowler some solid advise & possibly tell me where I could purchase a new or like new Migrator 1?
The orange feet, cluck clucks are waiting.

thanks,

YeLah,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm hoping to get a few opinions on this subject.
I bought an M2..... used it once, the head rear post was broke, side slider wouldn't lock, gun rest support was sticky, doors wouldn't stay shut.
Trying to work flock after flock of wary birds...... this was a real minus.
Plus, the fact trying to work a short reed call call with one hand just doesn't work very well.
Anywhoo, I've heard the M1 is better and sturdier than the M2 with all the elastic joints?
I'm thankful for your comeback, chalk one up for the M2.

happy hunting man!

yeah the only real advantage to the m2 that i see is that it folds up into a backpack for hauling around...luckily mine wasn't broken when i got it.

you make a good point though, there are a hell of alot more moveable parts in the m2 which means more can go wrong.

the only reason i got mine was for the backpack folding but if you always drive out to set up i guess that wouldn't really matter

I use a Cabela's interceptor elite, I'm 6'4" 225lbs, blind has good room, opening at the foot for your dog and for me is comfortable.

I use an SUB, im only about 6' 185 but it still has plenty of extra room even when I have my late season bibs and jacket on.

KS, Jeremy, Cody,
Thanks for the come backs I really appreciate the feedback.
I am hoping I can get some opinions or personal feedback on the "fat guys hides"like Avery Migrator 1 or FA Eliminator Pro Guide XL.
These seem to be the only laydown blinds that are specifically built for the big guys.
My partner uses an SUV, another a Finisher they both like them.
I'm not comfortable in either.
The M2 I had was not IMHO made or designed real well.
I've heard the M1 was much better???
The FA XL is roomy, but like the old Eliminator I had years ago pretty high profile.
Plus, not real easy to transport as it only folds down.
It does seem well build and durable.
Like I said in my first post, I'd like to see some new updated blinds hit the market.
Seems most out now are made in China.
The old FA's years ago, when Ron owned the outfit were USA made.
As with just about anything else these days American made is wishful thinking.
At any rate, I'm standing by and hoping that some of youse webfoot freaks can give this old waterfowler some feedback on this subject????
I really enjoy reading all of the posts and wish all of you good hunting.
It seems that maybe mother nature is giving us some decent weather here in the lower 48.
So, get out there and fool em if you can.

I'm 6-4 and 255 pounds. I'm kinda a big fella!! I hunt from a Finisher blind for about 6 years now. I really like the blind. I have no problem fitting in the sucker and can blow on my short reed goose call with both hands, no problem. Lots of room for me even with it set as low as it will go.
