Well i'm not trying to put any body's product down, But in the last few years guiding and hunting i have seen less problems out of the sx2 than any other gun the Benelli 2nd and i guess 3rd would be up for grabs but i have seen a lot of problems out of the extrema with different clients shooting them. Beretta makes a great shot gun and i haven't been around the extrema 2 very much but they had some problems in the beginning with the extrema from what i saw .. They may be great now but if i was buying a new gun it wouldn't be my choice..Just my opinion..

I have a gold which is the same as winchestor sx. I also have a Extrema 2 which i bought last season I have had no problems with the extrema 2. The gold never works once it get a little dirt in it. I never cleaned the extrema 2 last season and I it never jamed. I hunt in dirt pits and would have to clean the gold every time!!

The Extrema 2 rules if you are going to abuse it!!

just from my experiance!!!!!

the extrema 2 is a nice gun shot one a few times but havent ever hunted with it. i chose the super x2 because it fit me right. and as for problems with guns sometimes i think its luck of the draw. i know a kid who shoots a sx2 never cleans it and it never jams. and i know a guy who has a super black eagle keeps it clean and it jams alot. i know 2 guys who shoot extremas one has never had a problem and the other sold it after a week. so in the long run you always gotta go with the gun that fits you best. check out the beneli, extrema sx2 and even the sx3.

Lovin my Gold 3 1/2". Haven't shot the SX2 or 3 yet, but I know the SX2 is a good gun. Have talked to Gary Crafton on the phone, and he swears by his SX3. Maybe I'll get a new gun next year, but as of right now I'm good.

I have heard of problems with the Gold and SX series, but haven't seen any of them. Get what fits you the best, and if you have troubles, change it up.

No they are not the same gun. Find me a SX2 or 3 with a magazine cutoff and that design bolt and I'll change my mind. I work closely with both Browning and Winchester, visit their HQ regularly for shoots and to BS with the guys. A very good family friend does the custom work up there as well. I can assure you they are not the same gun.

I agree with this whole heartedly. I abused mine last year, I did keep it well lubed though.

When it comes to semi-autos, whether it's shotguns or internal magazine-fed rifles, most cycling problems are due to insufficient lube.

I just switched from the extrema to the extrema2, talk about an improvement.

I'd take either beretta over my benelli though!!
