Illinois Shotgun Deer Season......Who Hunted and How you do?

I went out all three mornings and two of the nights and didnt see many deer at all and didnt really hear that many shots!

I was hunting in Pope County Illinois and I have got a deer down there almost every year since I have gone but not this year I guess!

I hope everybody else had better luck than I did

The 1st gun season is 3 days and the 2nd gun season is 4 days so only 7 days total!
IT SUCKS!!!

my uncle went down to southern IL , don't know were there was 8 total people. they shot

1 11point
1 12point , don't know how big ,, i haven't seen any pics ! he got nothing.

i hunt Mason county and my friend that hunts my land thet we told them not to but they shot a 5 and a 8 point

hunted friday and saturday and only saw two spike bucks. never pulled the trigger all weekend :roll: hope next season is better

i ended up with a pretty good sized 6 pointer from jackson county, my other two buddies got a button and a good sized doe. i definitely also anihilated the **** out of a doe on the way down thursday night! probably a good 800-$1000 worth of damage to my truck...****ty

****! Come to Iowa. We have groups around here getting 30-50 easy. A group of 41 last year took 32 bucks!!! That is only in a 2 day season. They also have permission on about every piece that has anything on it. My cousin and I have a Piece of private ground that is in the middle of surrounding Timbers that get pushed hard. We have had deer bed down at our feet because they are so tired.

No that doesn't suck... Indiana firearms season sucks 2 weeks of shotgun and then 2 weeks of muzzleloader! thats why you guys have world class deer running around there is cause the deer have a way better chance to reach maturity levels there than here! I absolutely hate indianas gun season.. like spiral downfall said shoot a bow, it's more of a challenge anyway!

No that doesn't suck... i killed an old 8pointer scored 163 2/3 then smoked a doe 10minutes before sunset. Numbers were real low in Pike Co, lowest in 15 years. Was just really bad hunting conditions, Friday was perfect weather, but the moon phases ****ed us. Second season should be a lot better, but I'll probably be duck hunting :) screw them deer...
