I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
AREA WHO CURRENTLY BLOWS FOILES MIGRATORS CALLS. I WOULD POSSIBLY LIKE TO START CONTEST CALLING, BUT WOULD LIKE SOME
FUTHER INSTRUCTION. CURRENTLY OWN HPH & A MARKET HUNTER.
CAN CALL GOOD ENOUGH TO KILL GEESE, BUT WOULD LIKE SOME FURTHER INSTRUCTION. HAVE TALKED TO GUYS FROM OTHER CALL COMPANIES AND ALL THE DO IS TELL ME MY FIRST MISTAKE IS USING
FOILES CALLS. I KNOW THATS NOT THE CASE. THEY JUST WANT TO SELL CALLS FOR THEIR COMPANY. IF ANYONE CAN POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION THE HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. :D

Ryan welcome to the site, I'm not in your area ,but i will give you a couple suggestions. It is kinda hard to completely explain contest calling by just typing in words,, You need to come up with a routine and a good flow, as well as control on your call, My suggestion would be to get the calling geese 2. from the Foiles shop .Jeff does go into contest calling in depth, You can also visit www.callingducks.com there are some routines of callers on there. Actually hearing routines and see how they flow and put togather will tell you a lot more than anyone can type in hope this helps good luck

Where exactly in PA are you Ryan??? Are you the guy that Big Sean gave my number and we talked a while back?

The closest three guys to you are myself (Corry, PA), NJHONKER (Rob Warner, Trenton, NJ), and Jeremy Finan (Milton, PA)......atleast that I am aware of.

Fill me in a little more on where you are and hopefully we can get someone close to give you a hand.

Mark, I live in East Berlin Pa. It's about 1/2hr south of Harrisburg.

I did talk to big sean @ the Eastern Sports & Outdoorshow this year.
That is actually who I bought my High Plains Honker from.

I also work part time @ the H-burg Bass Pro Shops. Thats another reason
I would like to increase my skill level (so I can sell more calls.)

Well, you are about 6 hours from me. I am not sure how far you are from Jeremy....you might want to email him through the forum. As for NJHONKER, I am guessing you are about 4-5 hours from him...maybe a little further.

Well...if we can't get you some personal face to face help, I would be willing to evaluate some soundfiles if you can email them to me. More than likely, if your computer is even remotely new, you should have a sound recorder on it...and all you will need is a $10 micrphone from Wally World.

If you are willing to do that....I am more than willing to help out. 6 hours is just a bit too far to drive for some lessons....we'll figure something out brother!!!!

Mark, I would be willing to do the drive, but I was in the hospital
and can't drive for a few months yet. The only access to a computer
I have is at work. If doing it over the phone (ie.; speaker phone)
would be possible that would definately work.

I would never expect some one to come to me or even ask someone to meet halfway, I would never do that to anyone. My wife said she'd drive me if it was close and there was a mall or something she could go to. I wouldn't ask that of her either.

If the phone deal would work, let me know and hopefully we can get something like that worked out.

thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated. :D

We can do the phone thing....but sometimes the phone distorts loud sounds and what I hear isn't exactly what it truly sounds like...but we can get you moving!!!

I will shoot you a PM with my home number and we can go from there....

mark,
don't feel bad, my 7mo. old daughter was sick and going to bed early
so I wouldn't have been able to blow a call anyway. I will try you this week (child permitting). hope you smacked em' saturday. It was 29
degrees here on saturday. sitting in the tree stand was cold.
thanks again,
Ryan.
