View Full Version : CANADA where DREAMS come true
I was looking at pile of Geese on Jeff home page and got me thinking about wonderful trip I had to Saskatchewan this year. Jeff and many others like myself learned long time ago how great the goose & duck hunting was in Saskatchewan and that is reason we keep going back each year. A Dream come true hunting trip
A DREAM come true hunting trip to Saskatchewan
Not very often person will have Opportunity get in on really SUPER Snow goose hunt with truly decoying Snow geese.
Being in Canada when Snow geese first starts to arrive in area you will be hunting can be a Dream happening in real life. And IF you are far enough North possibly your spread will be first many of the Juveniles (Young & Dumb) have ever seen. This is ideal time for Decoying Snow Geese.
1st day we hunted 5 of us got 86 Snow geese and 28 Canadian geese then that afternoon got limit 40 Ducks.
YES Dream dose come true!
One of 1st days Snow geese started arriving area I was at.

That looks like a ton of fun. Good work boys!
Here is spread we used on days we Snow goose hunted
Our hide = Nothing better than natural cover (when possible)
10+ mph wind from West - from right looking out from blind

From our blind. The spread from killer hole to left. Full body Duck decoys for confidence, get ducks cirling seems help attract Snow geese. Most time - Sometimes - well once in while - like maybe.

Middle of spread with opening for killing spot

And spread to right. Up wind

The Snows and Specks with smaller geese will be moving out starting South
BUT there will be movement of big Mallards in full color moving to area Jeff is at along with Large Canada Geese (longnecks) with colder weather that is starting up there today.
Can't wait for Video of Jeff's hunt this year.
How about U I bet it will be GOOD ONE.

We go to Saskatchewan Canada - Saskatoon area (thats covers lot area)
YES we use Outfitter in Saskatchewan, same one for last 10 years and we have booked again for next year,
I have been going Saskatchewan and Manitoba ever since 1984 only missed two years during this time and I have done my share of freelancing in Canada but I now prefer use outfitter.
Lot of advantages using outfitter. I really dont know of any disadvantages except $$$$
5 hours flying time instead of 30+ hours driving 35+ hours pulling trailer
Nice place stay with wonderful meals - not hotel room
We use outfitter mostly for scouting getting permission also his trailer decoys and blind.
We like being able duck hunt of afternoon not have worry about scouting / find place to hunt next day
We still do most of our own setting up blind and decoys calling and calling our shots.
