Figured i'd start her off fresh and new for 2006!

Friday Oct. 6th got out for my second hunt of the year and my first in the evening. Had a clover/chicory plot (shown below) to my right and a standing bean field to my left. Jumped deer off the field walkin in at 4:15. Saw 18 in total this night, one buck is all (besides yearlings). Our farm is under intense management and has been for 5 years. Had cam pics of deer smokin' this food plot. Shot one doe at 5 o'clock at 32 yards and another at 41 yards at 5:30. Still had deer all over me all night long. Gonna hit it here again later this week due to weather pushin' in and ducks are still illegal!! (By the way, switched from muzzys to these expandable 100 Grain Hammerheads w/ 2 inch cut...AWESOME..BLOOD EVERYWHERE! You all need to try these lumenok's as well. Talk about bad ass when they bury into these deer!) Good luck and let's see the kills and hear the stories!!

my 10 year old brother shot his first one ever yesterday. It was a 4 pointer that probably weighed 120-110. He used a 35 pound PSE at 13 yards, drilled 'em too. Deer didnt even go 30 yards. I think he's got 90 grain Muzzys. Talk about a proud little man.

I shot a five pointer a couple of weeks agao the first night I sat I have bigger bucks around but since I duck hunt so much I hardly get out so I decided to take it, besides I got a new bow before the season Bowtech tribute I double lunged the buck quartering away at 17 yards, I use magnus buzz cut broadheads and I too use the lumenocks they are awesome. Good luck Jason

Good shooting!! Jason, do you still like Muzzy broadheads even though you switched? Ever had any problems with them? Thats what I have but have never hit a deer with one. They look good and I know lots of people live by their muzzy 100 grains.

I know your probably asking the other Jason, but I'll add my two cents I used muzzy broadheads for years 100 grain three blades and they worked great, switched to the Magnus this year because a buddy of mine opened a bow shop and he gave me some Magnus's to try.

KillerMiller,

Hey man...no I never had problems w/ the muzzys..as a matter of fact had awesome success w/ them. They just don't fly like field tips and I kept havin' to resight in my bow after practicing w/ field tips...that sucks big time. These rockets fly just like my field tips and man you can't believe the blood...ask MIDWEST...I killed my 3rd deer last night..(another doe) and she bled hard and everywhere. Double lung hit at 25 yards..what a mess. No pics though..gave her away before I thought of it. Anyway..I love my rocket hammerheads...i'm a firm believer. The entrance and exit holes have been huge. Stick w/ what you like though..but if you want something that flies like a field tip..pick these up!!!

Killed a doe the first night here in Pa. Shot her out of a ground blind, that was definately a cool experience.

As for broadheads, I shoot 100gr. muzzys. Have to change my sights a little, but not much. Don't use the practice blades they send with them.
In my experience they do fly a little different than the actual hunting blades.
