Myself, MIgoosekiller, and 4 other friends went out today and put the hurt on them. We got our 6 person limit of geese (12) and shot 17 ducks consisting of 2 blacks. First time MIgoosekiller and I hooked up, from the looks of it, this foiles connection could be deadly!

I don't think he's referring to the kill pic, I think it's the amount of birds that we seen. It was a great display, we let about 200 ducks go just to get those geese. It's nice when you get set the calls down and just watch.

Nice hunt guy's! and no we dont see **** tons of birds like some other places everyday.

I heard we had a push coming through from the bridge, they've been piled up there just waiting for a front, looks like you got into them!

Congrats on the fine hunt. But the US is much larger than your snow covered corn field.

Trying to gather some information for a fund I am starting.

Flights from Denver to Lansing
And from Grand Rapids to Denver are $550 round trip.

What's the going daily rate for guiding a "punk ass" in Michigan? I'm looking for at least a 5 day trip. I want you to show me consistency for 5 straight days.

Is room and board provided?

What kind of liability insurance do you have and what is the maximum amount of payout should there be an accident of some form?

Are you properly licensed within Michigan to guide a waterfowl hunt, or is a license necessary in your state?

What's the cost of a non res hunting license?

Total right now is $550.... lets see where this goes and then we'll get this thing going.

Ok boys play nice. It was a fun day to say the least. I don't think most guides have liability insurance, half of the properties they hunt aren't even theirs I know that when my buddies go on guided deer hunts the guides always want cash, if that tells you anything. I guess I don't go on guided hunts, I hunt my own stuff. Good luck H2O, I hope you blow them up on your guided hunt.

I always Thought guided hunts had to have liability insurance

Guess I don't know, never been into looking at guiding, I think MIgoosekiller was just messing with them. All I have heard about is how some guides take people on the land that they get permission for and don't give the landowner any of the cut, which I think is crooked. Ran into a guide before that was going to go on land I had permission for and do that, good thing I caught him scouting the field.

ok look here boys i wasnt trying to start any **** all im saying is we saw some **** that i havent ever seen before....and i know for a fact that i could put anyone on birds for five days....it wasnt what we killed that i was reffering too it was what we saw...and believe me if you were from MI and saw this then you would understand we dont get the luxury of hunting areas where birds are here all the time like some of you guys do but man i wish we did!!! either way it was a good hunt and thats the truth!!!!

well its pretty cool first you go out in a random field toss a couple of decoys out and stand there talking while you wait for the birds with the long necks and white patch land then you shoot them. its pretty fun you should try it.

All I was trying to say is along the lines of what h2ofowler said. You're young - you're gonna see a lot of chit in the field (I hope) for the next 40 years - I hope you stay as excited about it as you are now - it's good to see guys with enthusiasm in the sport. Honestly - every day afield should be an opportunity to see something you've never seen before..this is a little zen, but you'll never see the same thing 2 hunts in a row...

Actually we had to decide if we wanted to shoot more ducks or limit on geese. The sky was full of both, we had a large number of ducks on the ground in the dekes but decided to go after the geese. Theres the answer. If you would also like to know, we don't get to shoot the ducks and geese we're capable of because most of the time the migration hits in december when the season is over with. I guess that gives them more to shoot down south for the guys that actually run it like a business but what do I know, all I know is it was fun and I'm going to do it tomorrow again.

I once had 400,000 ducks and 800,000 geese come in and land in my decoy spread and i wasnt sure what to shoot at... needless to say, I fired one shot and limited out on both! Those are exact numbers too... I counted all of them before I shot and they were all also banded. It was a really good hunt.

Talk to the guys on the East Side of the State from bay City, etc.

A guy came in our office the other day with about 5 ducks and 10 goose bands (Miner's), All Shot in Michigan.....

Even on the West Side though there are 1 or 2 shot at the managed hunting areas.
