Just wanted to hear how everybodys doin so far this season up here in MN. Seasons been around for 13 days and Ive been out 7 times. Filled out 6 of those times, been huntn maily divers(ringers, reds, and a few buffleheads). We've had a front move through here in the last day and its still snowin now, been a north wind now for 2 days. Figured it woulda gotten the birds movin, but yesterday AM they seemed to stay where they were. bout the only thing they would get up for was when an eagle would fly over em, but even then they would just circle in one big mass in the refuge and then land again, so it was a 0 duck day. Seems to be a lot of geese in the area also but theyve been around in good numbers since opener. Was supprised to see some of the ponds yesterday have a thin sheet of ice in some areas. Goin to head out today after school this afternoon; Its lookin pretty ducky. Forcast is lookin like Friday will have some rain/snow with temps in the 40's. After that looks to warm up with some 45 to 50's with clouds so this weekend should be decent. Seems to be this year alot of the hunters from the cities gave up early being as its hard work to get to the good water around here with the dry conditions(to Shallow for the boat motor or to much weeds). Got the whole week off next so ill have 9 days strait of huntn. Also anybody know where I could get some of GHG's new bufflehead decoys, seems everywhere is out of em I checked, any help?

Down here in the cities the birds are everywhere. Divers- ringers, blue bills, cans, reds and buffleheads. Mallards are migrating down too. Tough to call in, but decoy well with a robo, if your set up in a calm bay, especially with the recent winds. Cans are everywhere. We could have limited out 50+ times over all day long today.

As far as Buffie deeks, we aren't using any, but seeing and shooting them.

Geese are everywhere too. Good in the fields during the day, and water right away in the morning and in the evening.

Been seeing alot of birds around the cities region. Alot of geese as well. I am heading down to southern minnesota in a couple of hours to hunt the rivers and chase some roosters around. Hopefully this cold snap has driven some birds farther south. Good luck.

Like they are saying it has been a slamfest for the last week. I can not believe how many days we were out of the field by sunrise time. We are shooting limits of geese and picking up in less then 1/2 hour of legal shooting time. Only 3-4 guys a day though.

It's gettn real close to freeze up around here. Last weekend we had to break through half an inch of ice for about 200 yds to get to the water. It warmed up some for a couple days but the ice is back now. Seems its all on the shallow stuff but with lows in the 20's for the next day or 2 itle grow some more. Hopefully itle back off some for a few weeks we still got over a month left of season.
