what kind of choke tube do you use for waterfowling
Kicks High Flyer Modified when I am shooting at geese or strictly divers...
Otherwise, I use my old standby of the factory mod

I'm thinking the 655 Terror :D
Rumor is rifle like patterns out to 15 yards, with the ability to devastate birds at long ranges
Used a patternmaster long range for years, and I found it to be better than my factory chokes, so it did its job.

I shoot a kicks high flyer in the full with 3 1/2 2's. Knocks the **** out of the geese even at fifty yards. Shooting such a tight pattern makes it a little harder to shoot their faces off but I still have had some success with it.

I have a ext range patternmaster in my browning gold and it shoots great. I put one in my super nova and couldn't hit S$%#. Put the factory choke back in and i like it alot. Any insight why i can shoot my browning PM good and I can't hit **** with my Super Nova. Might just be in my head...

It's crazy I'm shooting better this year with my factory full choke killing ducks over the decoys.

I talked to Kicks today and their extra full high flyer is only .0692
Comp n chokes was .0677 again in x full
Duckhunter101, why do you ask??? For ****s and giggles, or are you in the market.
I am going to try this 655 Terror, but I would definitely not recommend it to someone, not yet anyway, it's more of just something I just have to do for me. I will pattern it, and get the chance to tenderize some snows with it before I ever decide to bring it out for ducks and geese.
From talking to the people at Kicks and the president of Terror, even a 675 is extremely tight, to tight for what the majority would like.
Each has their own reason for going with what they do, and just because some are using these very tight chokes it by no means is because we are just out shooting at everything within 80 yards. I know for me it is simply to assist in reducing cripples.
The vast majority of my shots this fall were inside of 25 yards.
Anyways, you never let us know which choke you shoot, so which do you prefer??

Brett just so you know, Charlie Boswell from Comp-N-Choke owns both companies.
you can't go wrong with either Comp N Choke or Kicks

Had that one in the knowledge bank already.
That's kind of why I thought it was strange that ones x full is 677 while the others is 692.

Two seperate choke designs is why the restictions are differant, then again you probably knew that...lol!

It's the ports that do the work on the comp n choke
But if I remember correctly, and I just kind of glanced this over, the ports on the Kicks are also the key.
So are they really that different??? They are ported different, but same concept behind them isn't it?
And I believe it was you in a previous thread that let me know about the kicks and comp being owned by the same gent.
I had to try that 655 out, so I read a bit about these, but it was more to prove to myself I had to get this thing, instead of actually learning and understanding every bit of info on Kicks and Comp n choke.
In a couple months, if the 655 doesn't work out, then I will be researching both companies, and looking harder.

Somewhat, the diagional porting on a Comp-N-Choke gives it the wad stripping effect simular to a Pattermaster eventhough it doesn't reduce muzzle jump, it does reduce recoil. The angled porting on a Kicks is more for muzzle jump and reduced recoil and not a wad stripping styled choke.
