This is probably going to be kinda long. First of all, definately less calling generally. I try to let the people around me that are calling alot call the ducks away from themselves and to me accidentally. I always seem to have to call some, and I think some calling is necessary. Quiet single quacks and 5 or 6 note greeting calls, maybe some soft chuckling.
decoys: As far as decoy numbers go, if there's alot of ducks around I will normally run a big spread. You gotta play it natural. Example: There were alot of bluebills on the lake that I was hunting for alot of the season. I went and bought a dozen GHG Bluebills and strung them out in a line leading out from my actual spread of decoys. The ducks seemed to decoy better with the bluebills out, since bluebills was a high % of what was out there. They did seem to want to land out in them, so I had to string them closer.
Flappy decoys and other motion decoys I wouldn't necessarily say put out alot of flappys. I have a lucky duck with a remote and if the ducks arent liking it, I will turn it off or at least turn it off as they close in. Besides spinning wing decoys, the more motion the better. I have a jerk cord rigged up and use it when the ducks are close enough to see the water moving, but wont close those last crucial yards. I put 3 decoys on it to move alot of water. Also, shaker decoys are good too, especially if it is really calm.
Killer Miller thats why this forum is great. Thanks for your help and happy hunting. :D

Honk, no problem!! If u have any other specific questions, just post up on messsage me. I love talkin hunting with other people. Sometimes I end up in Sportsmans Warehouse for hours just talking with some of the hunting employees. haha Another forum you can try is flocknockers.com
There are literally thousands of waterfowlers that are on that forum. Forums are even categorized into goose hunting and duck hunting and others too. Some of the people on there are kinda jerks sometimes though and think they know everything.
