Hey, Just a question, this morning on my way to work I was checking the private ponds I hunt and all of them were full. Do you think the migrators have made it to central Il yet, or are they using these ponds due to other ones freezing up.

i'm just north of evil hunter, and the rivers have the usual holes open; there are thousands of geese here. I disagree a little with black feet, we have 6 inches of snow on the ground, geese are feeding hard on corn still, haven't seen many birds checking out, but lots of birds moving in. I do agree with black foot, however, that central IL should be expecting to see lots of birds now, since madison just got 12 inches last night, and many of those birds were blowing by northern illinois this morning.

We have had a bunch of high flyers here lately, but I have seen some new birds also. They were thick here last week and sunday was our last day, so I would think you would be ok. Best of Luck.

checked all the water roosts today, my best guess is we have lost about 70percent of our birds not that we wont get some more but even with madison gettin that much snow. there is a layer of ICE under the snow. golf course killer you better grind em this weekend, sounds like more weather next week.

There are a lot of birds stretching from Braidwood to Springfield. I dont think the main migration in our part has really started yet, but it's about to turn on and be sick.

Exactly! Make sure to stay away from the central illinois waterfowl. All birds have te bird flu and if you eat them yuo will die!
