Sometimes you need the right boat for the right job. Barebones you should have a marine deep cell battery for lighting then your hand held for back up. If you have a battery then a bilge pump is an added bonus. Interier lighting is a low voltage bonus also.

Here's a link for some great lights.

All my boats have them and once you have them you'll wonder how you ever got by without them. The biggest problem with duck hunting and boats is the water is cold and there really is no on around in the wee hours of the morning. Things have changed alot in my duck boat line up over the years, from jon boats with make shift blinds, to sneak boxes, 15' double hull duck Wrangler and my latest is a Duck Waters boat.

Each boat I have is for certain conditions from the bay or on a small river with a few guys. If your in 3'ers then you better have a boat that will handle 5s all day. Be safe.

I bet your going to get in the 9grand area, they are a total custom boat from the ground up. What ever you want they will build. I remember back in the day I had a TDB I thaught that boat was the greatest duck boat since sliced bread came along. I was younger and dumber then took the boat out in the bay. White caps but nothing major, on the way in we were faced with true 4 footers. The tdb is a single hull boat and you could feel the floor moving bouncing. I was scared ****less, but I learned a lesson. Buy the a boat that is ready to command any water your faced and get the biggest motor that baby can handle.

I have a Barneget Bay Sneak Box I see some guys laugh at me "why do you have a 25HP motor on a 13'8" boat"? I had this boat built to handle it. But when the water kicks up and there with there 9.9 I can throttle up harder and let down just as fast. If it's like glass I can put around just the same but I have the power when needed if your going to hunt with a tide it's not like going to flooded timber that's for sure.

My friend and I still run a Bankes Freedom Boat for the big stuff with a 75horse for sea ducks.
