I am looking for some good lighted headgear that I can use while putting out decoys in the morning. I found this product www.bosshead-lite.com which seems like a nice concept and I have also seen the head lamps that you strap on and various lights you clip on. What is everyones preference?

Cat Eyes LED head lamps! It clips onto the bill of your hat and has either 3 or 5 LED's that run on 2 watch batteries. They have unbelieveable run time. I have had mine on at least 25 or 30 hours on the same 2 little batteries. I think they're supposed to run for a few hundred hours on the same batteries, LITERALLY! I have a 3 light one that I got from Wal-Mart for liek $8. I did break one of the 2 clips off of it yesterday but it was like 25 degrees and they were pretty brittle Im sure.

No need in getting the expensive ones, go to Walmart and buy a Rayovac headlamp, has white led lights, red led light, and also halogen head beam, it sells for like $15.00. Best little cheap light in my opinion, I've had Petzl's and others, and have either lost them or broke them and it sucks to drop $50-$75 everytime, especially when the little rayovac's are just as good. It takes 3 AAA batteries (comes with some), and on the led mode it will last pretty decent, with the headlamp only, it will last probably 6-8 hours continuous. I buy about 3 of them at a time and keep them everywhere (in my deer hunting tub, in my blind bag, and 1 extra in the truck). Good luck.

I use two kinds. One is the cats eye thing that clips to the bill of your hat. You'd be surprised how bright that is. I also have a regular LED headlamp I got from Cabelas. It's quite a bit brighter, I use it for walking to the blind or pit.
